Two e-mails from an Iranian

Internet very very slow here. Almost non-existent. Yesterday it was not connected at all. Also cell-phones are faulty most of the times. SMS messages are totally off.

Why the Iranian Elections of June 12th could be Fraudulent

The official figures announced by the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran attribute 63% of the votes to Mr Ahmadinejad, the incumbent president.  Breaking with a 30 year old tradition, instead of waiting the usual three-day period, set aside for challenges and possible recounts, the supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, sanctioned the results only hours after they were announced.

Mousavi's letter to Iranians

Fellow countrymen,

I am receiving news about objections to the declared results of the latest elections, from all over the country. I am certain that these reactions are not for my personal sake, but it's due to concern about a new way of political life that is being forced on our country.

Mousavi's Letter

Honorable people of Iran

The reported results of the 10th Iranians residential Election are appalling. The people who witnessed the mixture of votes in long lineups know who they have voted for and observe the wizardry of I.R.I.B (State run TV and Radio) and election officials. Now more than ever before they want to know how and by which officials this game plan has been designed.

Conyers, Grijalva, Edwards Write to Hoyer Re Single Payer

We appreciate the time you took to meet with Representatives Edwards, Cohen, Cleaver, and ourselves, along with Tim Carpenter from Progressive Democrats of America, Michael Lighty and Donna Smith from the California Nurses Association. We look forward to advancing, in your eloquent words, “robust, deep debate on single-payer,” in the House of Representatives during the 111th Congress.
