Rachael Bliss has been writing letters to editors for so long that folks in her Tennessee town thought she was an employee for her local paper. She wasn't, but she has always been opinionated and wasn't afraid to express views that were often much in the minority.
After working for 10 years in creative services and community affairs at a local broadcasting station, she moved into the nonprofit world with her first job with the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, AL. From there, she went on to advocate for the hungry, children and the environment as an organizer and director of other grassroots groups. She started blogging in November, 07 when she initiated People Power Granny. "Life never fails to amaze me," Bliss remarks."And I feel my calling is to share my amazement with other readers who suspect there is much more to the news than what the corporate media is telling us. "Besides loving my grandchildren, I feel that my job is to work for their future through my writing, encouraging folks of every nation to care about the world we are leaving them."
