Advocates of freedom dodged a bullet last week when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that the right to keep and bear arms, the subject of the Second Amendment, is an individual, not a collective, right. Opponents of gun ownership have long maintained that the Amendment’s reference to the militia indicates that the right does not apply to private persons. Often people express concern about future acts of terrorism in America and about terrorists entering our country at our borders. I feel it is most important Americans come to realize that our borders would only be (if that) a last resort at stopping potential terrorists – if they've gotten that far without our intelligence being aware of their plans then our government has again failed in intelligence gathering. We've got our focus grossly misplaced if we think our biggest security risk is at the border. Be first to comment this article | Quote this article on your site | Views: 215

Whenever a libertarian calls for the dismantling of the U.S. government’s overseas military empire and the end of foreign interventionism, the standard response of the pro-empire, pro-intervention crowd is, “We cannot return to isolationism. That would be a disaster.” The sentence is intended to immediately shut down all further discussion given the opprobrium that is attached to the term “isolationism.” Be first to comment this article | Quote this article on your site | Views: 194

Will the Roman Catholic Church ever Recognize Women as Equal to Men? As a woman, I'm loosing patience with the church of my birth.
I grew up in the Catholic Church. I went to daily Mass for years as an adult. I fasted and prayed consistently. I was a participant in the Charismatic Movement, still going on in the Church. But I left all that one day when I saw the hypocrisy in the rules the church makes as it is absorbed with sex and gender in the 21st century.
