Women in politics - Bangladesh Women

While the two leaders in the two largest political parties have failed to lead the nation and look beyond the individual party interest and drive the nation, we do have quite a few women as well as men politicians (and NOT the so called politician), who has demonstrated high level of commitment, dedication and ethical standard with long standing track record in politics with grass root level engagement with common people. This is the time to recognise them and give them the visibility and appreciation, regardless of their political philosophy and identity. The fact of the matter is, they have never compromised on the fundamental of politics i.e. grass root engagement, strong ethical standard, moral values, no corruption charges and a long experience and understanding of the need of the common people. Let not brush them aside and put them under the same group of the corrupt so called politicians! All media, press and the caretaker govt. should make an concious effort to recognise these individuals, who have survived through this difficult, poluted environment and still maintained the dignity and self respect.
