I am a convert, I took up islam close to 5 years ago. 
 
Muslims don't practice Islam because of Sharia Law. In fact only oil rich uneducated folk in the middle east or the uneducated impoverished in Afghanistan and Pakistan follow Sharia. 
 
Bqarbaric laws indeed and no where in the Quran does it require any Muslim to follow it. 
 
Out dated tribal laws have crept into religions and societies right through out time. 
 
When the world was thought to have developed by leaps and bounds, the Christians were on their crusades killing and torturing people if they did not convert to Christianity. 
 
Religions aren't barbaric, the people who practice it are. 
 
Islam is more about peace and love than any other religion.  
 
Saudis are the worst example of Islam anywhere.
