Unfortunately, Ronald, Prohibition had nothing to do with alcohol; it was purely and simply racist: German hating. Most if not all breweries were owned by German-descended peoples (therefore, Germans and hateful). The law was to help the farmers and began a horrible legacy of subsidization. The rise of gangs, Jewish or Italian, was an unfortunate side-effect.
