Comment in question 02-07-2007 04:17 If Howard is not a racist, I would hate to meet one. The aboriginal conditions are unspeakably bad. Yes they are grossly neglected. But you see the majority of white Australian don\'t give a damn. I have heard some awful things said, like, \"They had an abbo shoot in Tasmania, they should have not stopped at Bas Strait, they should had finished the job off\", there is plenty more. Howard in his late actions has specially demonized, the Aboriginals, as he did with Muslim refugees on the Tampa. After years of neglect, the coalition has seen the light! ya sure. Even though the electorate may know that part of this thing is about winning the next election, he knows he\'s on a winner. In Australia the racist card is always a winner. It is bad enough that this is a political ploy. But as I said to my wife when we first heard of this. \"You have to look for the twist with any thing Howard doe\'s\",(his term core promise, remember). I think the twist is, the dismantling of \'Land Rights\'. I think the military, are mainly window dressing for the redneck factor. Johnny boy has done it again, caught the opposition flat footed. They will have to be good to beat the Master. Mike |
