Comment in question 15-08-2007 19:36 Deaths, refugees even WORSE Fantastic letter by Don Williams that says it all. Key part for me: "And yet you helped turn our once-thoughtful intelligentsia into jingoistic sloganeers, afraid to report the simple and God-awful truth. Likely a million people have died in your war, 3 million have been forced to flee, 10 million emotionally damaged. For what?" It is actually WORSE than this: post-invasion excess deaths in the Occupied Iraqi and Afghan Territories total 1.0 million and 2.4 million, respectively (as of March 2007); post-invasion under-5 infant deaths total 0.5 million and 1.9 million, respectively (90% avoidable; as of March 2007); there are 4 million and 3.7 million, refugees, respectively; and 27 million and 26 million traumatized inhabitants, respectively (see "The Cost of War" and "Body Count" link via the link provided below).
