A pinch.

A pinch to the left? Hm. 
It is all about balance, I remember at the fall of the Soviet Union, I was discussing the outcome with my son, I said there\'s no counter balance, the right wing is going to run out of control. I am not claiming that the Soviets were virtuous, they had degenerated into a foul regime, although there was signs of moderation. 
But look at where the US is heading. 
Anything that has a social label, is stigmatized. And the trouble is the US is exporting their brand of belief, ether covertly or by force. 
I do not think the US people have a bat in hell chance, of a universal health system, much would have to change. The brutish right wing administrators, I believe, fear any example of a social system working. 
After all US citizens travel abroad and they might start asking too many questions. 
In passing, watch how the US will start haranguing Britain, now it has decided to act independently over Iraq.
