Informative

I found this article informative, I like the way it was presented using every day English no over use a fancy words.  
When I went to school, I found history a boring subject, it was presented I believe poorly, loads of dates to remember, and poor focus; what I did not realize,is, history is a method of looking into the future, patterns keep re-emerging. 
Empires keep falling, often they overreach themselves.  
What the US is attempting to do is not new, and cannot avoid the final outcome as it has done nothing innovative. Where are all these great empires? They are in the pages of history books.
