Comment in question 03-10-2007 13:06 Jewish Holocaust estimates Professor Szabo, Thank you for your comments. The authoritative sources for my estimates of the Bush Asian Holocaust (8 million excess deaths) are the latest top medical literature, the UK ORB and UN agency (UN Population Division and UNICEF) data. The death toll I cite for the World War 2 Jewish Holocaust is 6 million (5 million killed, 1 million dying from deprivation) and the sources for this Gilbert, M. (1969), Jewish History Atlas (Weidenfeld & Nicolson, London), Gilbert, M. (1982), Atlas of the Holocaust (Michael Joseph, London) and references therein. The proportional devastation varied from country to country, thus Gilbert estimates 0.2 million Hungarian Jews died in 1944-1945 out of a total Jewish population of 0.7 million. I of course would welcome references to the latest scholarly research and the latest scholarly estimates. Guest |
