According to Wikipedia, there are only approximately 100 Jews now living in Lebanon compared to 24000 in 1948. And the Jewish virtual library says the current political situation prevents them from practicing their religion openly. 
 
The 1956 war began when Egypt blocked the Suez Canal to Israeli shipping, which would have brought Israel to its knees in a matter of weeks. The Six Day War began after years of provocation from President Nasser. He stated in an address to the UN in 1960, 'The only solution to Palestine is that matters should return to the condition prevailing before the error (the establishment of Israel) was committed'. Seems to me that Egypt was the one planning this war years in advance.
