Oz anti-Chinese racism
Readers may be shocked by the 1947 "Two Wongs do not make a White" assertion of the then Australian Immigration Minister and thence Leader of the Labor Opposition Leader Arthur Calwell and its resurgence in the 2007 Labor election pledge of "60% reduction in grenhouse emissions by 2050" (yielding over twice China's current annual per capita CO2 pollution ).

However Arthur Calwell had some other things to say with equal nastiness e.g.

“We will not let the yellow hordes contaminate our golden shores.” [circa 1949]

“We can have a white Australia, we can have a black Australia, but a mongrel Australia is impossible, and I shall not take the first steps to establish the precedents which will allow the floodgates to be opened.” [1949]

“No red-blooded Australian wants to see a chocolate-coloured Australia in the 1980s.” [1975]
