This article really *is* a pile of BS. MY GOD!!! "...probably vaporized a hundred million Curies of uranium..." Chernobyl vaporized, like, a ba-zillion ga-jillion googleplex of Curies of fission products (rolling my eyes)!! Reading the initial UN/WHO/IAEA report and the TORCH report, most of the contamination outside of Chernobyl was I-125, Cs-134, and Cs-137. And where does a "a ton per week of an incredibly highly-concentrated deadly dust" come from??? Do you even understand how a nuclear plant derives its power? Or how the energy transfer from the spliting atom to the high-voltage power lines come about?? I doubt it. You need to do some more homework.
