Comment in question 07-12-2007 11:45 All terrorism There is a terrorism that is macabre, terribly photogenic, sanguinary, spectacular in its inhuman blindness, deaf and pitiless. Then there is a terrorism that is sneaky, viscid, moving in the darkness of indifference; a quiet terrorism, silenced, arrogant in its certainty of impunity. There is the terrorism of the Twin Towers, of the Madrid station, of the London subway. Then there is the terrorism of Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, of Chile's 9/11, of the dozens of butcher generals brought to power and kept there while pretending not to see their bloodstained hands. Therefore, there is a terrorism that must be fought, exporting ?democracy? on tanks, and then there is a terrorism that must be covertly supported, nurtured and protected as a jealously guarded secret.
