Comment in question 03-09-2008 12:42 Misunderstandings The article is rife with misapprehensions. For example, while there may be 30,000 deaths from firearms in the US annually, the author presumes these deaths are all tragic. Most gun homicides are meritorious! In my view, 60% of the gun-related deaths are goblins killing goblins. 35% are righteous folk killing goblins. The remaining 5% are accidents, suicides, crimes of passion, and the like. Draconian attempts to reduce the regrettable 5% will undoubtedly increase the others, to our cost. Guest |
