Comment in question 17-09-2008 06:22 The difference here, Mike, is that the government doesn't buy a major, or controlling, stake in a firm (AIG)... just blows billions of taxpayers' money to soften the blow for gamblers in free enterprise garb who bet beyond their means... and lost.
