When Will We Learn?

What I would like to know is: how long is it going to take for the West to awaken to the fact that its behavior is empowering its enemies and undermining its friends in the Mideast? The current Israeli attack on Gaza has dramatically empowered the Moslem Brotherhood and given nice pulpits to Nasrallah and Akhmadinejad. I fully realize that in both Washington and Tel Aviv, leaders' perspectives are very short-term, but the instability in Palestine, Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan suggest that we may not have much time left to change our behavior before the price goes up.
