Reality

Anyone can point to the fact that people died in both situations.  
 
However, as someone pointed out correctly earlier. One group (Israel) is defending itself. One group (NAZI Germany) was controlling another to eventually Kill Them. The Israelis have no "Final Solution" of which the Germans Have.  
 
Who broke the Cease Fire? 
Hammas  
 
Who was trying to pull its own people (the colonists), forcefully out of the Gaza Strip? 
Israel 
 
Additionally, some say that Israel's response was not proportional, and maybe they should let a few rockets hit, only a few Israelis died. But what if they didn't do anything after the first rockets? How hard would it be after the 1000th to then do something?  
 
Many people point out that the English, Americans and other countries set up the modern country of Israel for the Jews to have a safe country for themselves, and that they apparently kicked out the Palestinians. No one seems to mention that the Palestinian people were also kicked out of other countries. If they want to go to their traditional homelands, good luck. Lebanon will not take them. Syria will not take them. Jordan will not take them. Also the original peoples of the Palestine, were not the Muslims that they are today. They were Hebrews, and then Assyrians, and others as well, but not originally Muslims. So to make the claim that it is historically their land would be difficult.  
 
Should Israel let Palestine have its own states? Probably, just as a matter of good will. But is it required to do so, no. 
 
If you notice, Israel is not having the same problem with the West Bank. Maybe we should look to Hamas and it's supplier (IRAN) and tell them to stop halting the process towards peace.  
 
Israel is protecting themselves from Terrorism, and much of the world cries foul. Students on University campuses shout stop the violence with subtle messages of supporting Gaza. Hamas is the beginner of the violence. Israel does not want to hurt the people in Gaza, only those who attack it, Hamas, and they have a right to defend themselves
