Comment in question 27-05-2009 14:42 Poetic Assessment - No Justice The deluded hordes celebrating the building (mending) of the wall may find themselves imprisoned within it. Something ugly has overcome the mass of ordinary people. It\'s not just the deception by the media, that\'s too transparent (surely?), and it\'s not just the dominance of a massively wealthy elite, nor the sense of an increasingly uncomfortable status quo that may become shockingly unpleasant if anyone rocks the boat (like frogs being slowly brought to the boil in a beaker of water). There is some kind of separation, a loss of connection with the world of ordinary reality and values, a detachment, a confusion, like someone who has been thinking about something else and has unrecoverably lost track of the conversation and has no choice but to just keep smiling and nodding. To me, it feels like the end of, more than an era, the end of a civilisation. Guest |
