I too suffer from post traumatic stress in the form of sensory deprivation. My step father used me as leverage to control my mother so he paid a group home in Ontario under the table to confine me as I had comitted two minor infractions....I got expelled form private school! For 11 consecutive months I suffered culture shock (moved from europe to canada) was forbidden to speak to anyone or make eye contact with anyone who didn't work there. Was falsely interrogated and scrutinized 24/7 I even had to ask to use the toilet and make sure someone knew I was going in case they thought I'd run away! These are only some of the lasting horrors I suffered. My journalistic experience comes from being a staffer on the University of Toronto's 'The Varsity'
