Bob, thank you for this excellent article. I think your point is asolutely necessary for us to understand before we can evolve as a species. And, yes, to \'arm\' ourselves as citizens of a larger whole. It is the same belief that the \'other\' is inherently flawed as a human being in some essential way that allows us to kill without remorse whether on the battlefield or in our choices to deprive the seemingly undeserving of our poor. People like Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld haven\'t finished maturing beyond the bang-bang-you\'re-dead-I-win-in-the-playground mentality. I really believe we are at the gate of our species future; we can\'t leave anyone behind, but we must insure that the urge to take power-over is not the driving qualification of our leaders - there\'s too much at risk to allow such dangerous simplicity. namaste
