Back to school on the Strip
Society + Culture
By MWC News

As the 456,000 schoolchildren in the Gaza Strip start their academic year, they face chronic shortages of everything from paper, textbooks and ink cartridges to school uniforms, school bags and computers, the result of the Israeli blockade. At the same time, severely overcrowded classrooms are having to accommodate students whose schools were destroyed or damaged in the last siege, early this year.

Imprisoned by the most dangerous Zionist guards

People out there are divided whether it was a right decision to award Obama with a Nobel prize for peace. In fact, almost everyone around me is outraged, what ‘peace’ they ask, what about Iraq, Afghanistan, Guantanamo Bay,  Palestine?

Who Is a Jew?
Society + Culture
By Gilad Atzmon

The question of "who is a Jew?" has been debated in Israel since it attained statehood. In the Jewish state  the authorities,  Rabbis and the media would dig into one’s bloodline with no shame whatsoever. For the Israelis and  orthodox Jews, Jewishness is obviously a blood related concept.

By MWC News

Given the surge in interest in libertarianism during the past few years, it is amazing to me that one must still lecture the New York Times on the subject but, alas, such is the case. In an article on the Roman Polanski child-rape case entitled “The Polanski Case: A Gallic Shrug” by the paper’s columnist Michael Kimmelman, the paper pointed out that initially the reaction to the case was that “the arrest painted the usual picture of moralistic America versus libertarian France.”

Toxic Legacy of Christopher Columbus
Society + Culture
By William Cook

When beliefs morph into truth, regardless of the realities of time and place, the non-initiated become fodder for those with the zeal and power to enforce their will. Thus the great discoverer of the Americas “fantasized that he had located--- or had come close to—the site of the paradise into which Jehovah had placed Adam and Eve” ( Ned Hopkins, CTA Action, 1992).
