The Challenge of a Broken World
My title this morning -- “Hope is for the Weak: The Challenge of a Broken World” -- may seem unnecessarily harsh. After all, hope is an enduring feature of our species, something people search for (often quite desperately) and hang onto (usually quite tightly). For guidance, we tend to look to those people who have hope, not to those who have forsaken it. How can this hope be weakness?

The Psychology of Christian Fundamentalism By WALTER A. DAVIS
"I know you're a Christian, but who are you a Christian against." Kenneth Burke In Apocalypse, a patient study of Christian fundamentalism based on extensive interviews over a five year period with members of apocalyptic communities Charles Strozier identifies four basic beliefs as fundamental to Christian fundamentalism. (1) Inerrancy or biblical literalism, the belief that every word of the Bible is to be taken literally as the word of God; (2) conversion or the experience of being reborn in Christ; (3) evangelicalism or the duty of the saved to spread the gospel; and (4) Apocalypticism or Endism, the belief that The Book of Revelations describes the events that must come to pass for God's plan to be fulfilled. [1] Revelations thus becomes an object of longing as well as the key to understanding contemporary history, to reading the news of the day and keeping a handle on an otherwise overwhelming world. Each of these categories, Strozier adds, must be understood not doctrinally but psychologically. What follows attempts to constitute such an understanding by analyzing each category as the progression of a disorder that finds the end it seeks in Apocalyptic destructiveness. AUSTRALIA THREATENED BY US STATE TERRORISM
After a 4 decade career as a scientist, I have almost finished researching and writing a huge book on global avoidable mortality. “State terrorism” has had massive complicity in global avoidable mortality (excess mortality) that now totals 1.3 billion since 1950. While “jihadist” and insurgent “non-state terrorists” have killed 5,000 Western civilians over the last 20 years, US state terrorism is complicit in a post-invasion avoidable mortality and under-5 infant mortality in Occupied Iraq and Afghanistan now totalling 2.1 million and 1.7 million, respectively.

UNCIVILISED STATE OF AMERICA 'It would be a good idea.' Mahatma Gandhi, when asked about his views on western culture. George W .Bush, "You are with us or against us "after 911= End of pluralism, liberty and democracy "I did not know how much was ended. When I look back now from this high hill of my old age, I can see the butchered women and children lying heaped and scattered all along the crooked gulch as plain as I saw them with eyes still young.
