King Herod & George Bush

CHRISTMAS DAY 2006 is almost with us and our thoughts turn to the Birth of Jesus Christ and to Reverence for Mother and Child which is the common belief of all decent people. It being Christmas and because horrendous events in the Holy Land and the Middle East are so much in the fore of daily news reports, I have written a contemporary ANNOTATION of the Story of the Birth of Jesus as told in Matthew Chapter 2 of the beautiful King James version of the Holy Bible.

Because I am an agnostic humanist scientist concerned with excess mortality (excess death, avoidable death, avoidable mortality, deaths that should not have happened) my interspersed Annotations below are concerned with current acute mortality realities relating to the Matthew Chapter 2 story. In short, the King received Intelligence of a Threat to his Rule and was told by the Wise Men from the East that the Threat would be born in Bethlehem. After the Birth of the Holy Child, the Holy Family fled as Refugees to escape the horrendous Mass Infanticide ordered by the King, returning only when the King finally died, and, avoiding Judaea, go to reside in Nazareth in Galilee. Thus began the Life and Ministry of Jesus Christ whose Message of Love has inspired all People of Goodwill.  

2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, 2:2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

2:3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

2:4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.

THREAT. The United States has about 4.7% of the population of the World but greedily consumes about 20% of its resources. Thus America uses about 60% of world oil production. Most of the currently exploited world’s oil is in Muslim countries and the US, inflamed by Racist Zionist (RZ) propaganda and driven by anti-Arab anti-Semitism and Islamophobia has been involved in both hot and cold wars almost from the Nile to the Indus.  In 2006, the Bush War on Terror (in horrendous reality a war on Muslim Women and Children, or more generally a War on Asian Women and Children) continued to devastate Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq and Afghanistan while threatening to expand into partially Israeli-occupied Syria and acutely threatening Iran with nuclear annihilation by US-Israeli State Terrorism (USIST). Of course the American-perceived Threat is one to Resources in general. As acutely seen by former World Bank president James Wolfensohn, China and India (former world economic leaders crippled by racist European violence and colonialism from the  late 18th to the mid-20th century) are set to overtake the US and the G7 in the 21st century) .

2:5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, 2:6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

2:7 Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.

2:8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.

LIES & EXCUSES. Just as the homicidal King  Herod wanted to know where the Child would be born, so George Bush sought Intelligence and Excuses for War. After the 9/11 tragedy, Bush convinced America of the “official version” that the World Trade Center had been destroyed by “mad mullahs in caves”, thereby confirming the utter gullibility of a society in which a big proportion of the population reject Darwinian evolution. Scholars for 9/11 Truth continue to present a far more plausible hypothesis that the WTC was destroyed by explosive demolition with the compelling implication – as asserted by top German and Russian Intelligence chiefs – that only a top National Intelligence operation could have been responsible for the atrocity (e.g. Intelligence associated with US-Israeli State Terrorism). Invasion and Occupation of Iraq required extensive lying about Iraqi Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and we have now just been told by a top CIA official that Bush,  Cheney, and Dr Rice (Dr Death) were actually told by CIA Director Tenet in Fall 2002 that Iraq had no WMD.   

2:9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

2:10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.
