 – re: organ trade

Human Rights Watch advocates expressed their concerns last month about China’s new rules on organ trade and they’re not the only ones. Earlier this year two Canadian lawyers reported that Chinese doctors and the military are heavily involved in illicit organ harvesting and transplant tourism in China.

Their study revealed that from 2000 to 2005, there were 41,500 organs of unknown origin transplanted in China--the unwilling donors being Falun Gong prisoners of conscience. They are pre blood-tested while incarcerated to provide match-able organs on demand and often killed in the process. Report: Bloody Harvest

It is clear that reviving these existing rules will serve one purpose only-that is-to keep criticism at bay ahead of the Olympics. If we don't question data derived from transplantations performed in China along with loose regulations to remedy this macabre practice, I’m afraid we will simply fail the test time and again. Meanwhile
 the killing goes on unabated.

And, Marie, let's turn a blind eye to organ transplantation in the US where the rich get the organ before anyone else, no matter where they be on the waiting list; let us turn the blind eye to these judges who deem a mentally retarded person to not be able to know of quality of life and, therefore, are to be denied an organ, even in the face of imminent death.

Killing people to help others is what war is all about. It is what greed is all about. It is what self-interest is all about.

Does it really happen? Well, there\'s always a grain of truth in the rumors...but urban myth is wonderful stuff. Keeps politicians in power and people frightened.

By noting one single group of people--the CIA funded Falon Gong for political destabilization--you give away your political leanings/bias and thereby narrow your opinion, mitigate against your point. As with WIMN\'S VOICES and their outcry about the GIRL [disabled] who was shortened in stature to help her parents deal with her disability, the point is greater than your particular interest.

That state criminal should be forced to aid society by giving back is an interesting question. In the 50\'s and 60\'s criminals in the US on death row were given the option of death or getting a commutation to life imprisonment if the let the drug industry test the new drugs on them. This was stopped due to its inhumane-ness. But, then, we continue to kill, kill, kill--and for nothing nearly so uplifting as the betterment of humanity.

It is sad that such harvesting will continue as long as there are people who are frightened as hell of death and others who are greedy and will do anything to--well, aren\'t people who are frightened of dying greedy (for life)?

Why just attack Chinese policies?

Do you really believe there is no politics involved in the Olympic process?

Falun Gong is not funded by the CIA
This letter is in reply to an article on China's death penalty and executions. The States have nothing to do with that. And whoever told you that the CIA are funding the Falun Gong are probably getting that idea from the Communist dictator via their heavy propagandamachine targetting Falun Gong in the hope to wipe them out before the Games.

I agree that the black market on organ trade should stop everywhere....especially when it's used to eradicate a group of people from Chinese society, as for the Falun Gong. Even the Nazis didn't go that low af few years ago.
