Ahmadinejad VS. Zionists & Racist Bush-ites | | Ben Heine/ MWC NEWS | I am an agnostic humanist and am opposed to racial, religious and sexual discrimination. Accordingly I disapprove of the moral traditionalist position of Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his supporters and the heavy-handed constraints on humanist politics in Iran. That said, and having thus declared my philosophical objections to President Ahmadinejad and his confrères, I must also stand up to be counted in condemning the horrible US-Israeli threats to devastate remote and peaceful Iran and the false vindictive, demonizing of Iran and its democtratically-elected President by the war-mongering Zionists and Racist Bush-ites.
The principal accusations against Ahmadinejad are that (1) he wants to wipe Israel off the map and (2) that he denies the Holocaust. A powerful demolition of these false assertions by the Zionists and Bush-ites is in the article “Does Iran's President Want Israel Wiped Off The Map - Does He Deny The Holocaust?” (see: here), a cogent analysis Anneliese Fikentscher and Andreas Neumann. The short answer is no. What Ahmadinejad actually said was (as quoted by the New York Times): "They say it is not possible to have a world without the United States and Zionism. But you know that this is a possible goal and slogan … Let's take a step back. Our dear Imam [Khomeini] said that the occupying regime must be wiped off the map and this was a very wise statement. We cannot compromise over the issue of Palestine.” And as reported in a version prepared by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), located in Washington: “They [ask]: 'Is it possible for us to witness a world without America and Zionism?' But you had best know that this slogan and this goal are attainable, and surely can be achieved … Imam [Khomeini] said: 'This regime that is occupying Qods [Jerusalem] must be eliminated from the pages of history.' This sentence is very wise. The issue of Palestine is not an issue on which we can compromise.” About the Holocaust it is obvious that Ahmadinejad does NOT deny it but objects to the Zionist exploitation of the Holocaust to justify the occupation of Palestine. Thus the Iranian press agency IRNA renders Ahmadinejad (14 December 2005) as follows: "'If the Europeans are telling the truth in their claim that they have killed six million Jews in the Holocaust during the World War II - which seems they are right in their claim because they insist on it and arrest and imprison those who oppose it, why the Palestinian nation should pay for the crime. Why have they come to the very heart of the Islamic world and are committing crimes against the dear Palestine using their bombs, rockets, missiles and sanctions.' [...] 'If you have committed the crimes so give a piece of your land somewhere in Europe or America and Canada or Alaska to them to set up their own state there.” Even a CNN report (15 December 2005) rendered this as follows: "If you have burned the Jews why don't you give a piece of Europe, the United States, Canada or Alaska to Israel. Our question is, if you have committed this huge crime, why should the innocent nation of Palestine pay for this crime?" A dispatch by Reuters (21 February 2006) confirms official Iranian recognition of the horrible reality of the Jewish Holocaust: "The Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki has … repudiated that his state would want the Jewish state Israel “wiped off the map”…. Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had been misunderstood. “Nobody can erase a country from the map.” Ahmadinejad was not thinking of the state of Israel but of their regime … “We do not accredit this regime to be legitimate” … Mottaki also accepted that the Holocaust really took place in a way that six million Jews were murdered during the era of National Socialism." I reiterate that I don't particularly care for President Ahmadinejad and some of his internal policies. However that said, one must respond to the egregiously dishonest, racist, Bush-ite Mainstream media ignoring of the following dozen palpable realities: (1) Ahamadinejad is the democratically elected ruler of Iran; (2) apart from inevitable border events, Iran has not invaded any other country for centuries (indeed in recent centuries was subject itself to Portuguese, Russian, British, Turkish, Iraqi and US interference and invasion; the UK-US-backed Iraqi invasion of Iran killed 1.5 million); (3) Iran does not occupy any other country; (4) Iran has not articulated threats to invade any other countries; (5) Iran repeatedly states that it does not want nuclear weapons; (6) Iran wants to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes; (7) Iran has signed up to the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty (NPT); (8) Iran and 52 other countries (including Ireland, China, India, Russia, Japan, Latin American and some African nations) also voted yes to a recent IAEA Resolution opposing nuclear weapons in the Middle East (47 pro-US-Israel countries abstained, the US and Israel voted NO) (see: here); (9) As a NPT signatory Iran has the right to build power reactors and to make the fuel rods for the reactors. Iran is allowing inspections; (10) Ahmadinejad is not a Holocaust denier - he simply objects to dishonest and racist exploitation of the Holocaust to justify Racist Zionist occupation of Muslim countries, notably Palestine; (11) Ahmadinejad has not said he would wipe Israel off the map - he legitimately asserted that the illegal Zionist regime would and should inevitably disappear (the World overwhelmingly agrees); (12) Iran provides diplomatic and other support for the democratically-elected Hamas Palestinian Authority of the Occupied Palestinian Territory and for the overwhelmingly Muslim Lebanese-supported Hezbollah in Lebanon. Let’s go through this checklist of a dozen behaviours of Iran or Ahmadinejad listed above and see how the Zionists, Apartheid Israel and Bush Amerika are behaving in comparison.
