Translation

"Apocalypse Now" painting.

"Apocalypse Now" is a huge painting created somewhat in the serious-cum-satirical  spirit of Tom Lehrer's famous anti-nuclear weapons song "We will all go together when we go" that concludes:

"And we will all go together when we go.
Every Hottentot and every Eskimo.
When the air becomes uranious,
We will all go simultaneous.
Yes, we all will go together
When we all go together,
Yes we all will go together when we go."

(The last words are sung with an increasingly deep basso profundo).
 
"Apocalypse Now" (1.3 meters x 2.9 metres; acrylic on doubly-primed quality canvas) is a huge painting that has the same underlying geometrical basis as Pablo Picasso's 1937 anti-war masterpiece "Guernica", specifically 2 Golden Rectangles exactly fitting between upper and lower framing strips (see "Guernica 70th anniversary & Qana. Picasso & Polya Paintings for Peace" on MWC News ).
 
However "Apocalypse Now" has some additional cultural conflations. Thus in addition to the Italian Renaissance Golden Rectangle geometry (Fibonacci Sequence- or "Da Vinci Code"-based) this painting has also a background of medieval Islamic Tile Art as found in the Alhambra, Spain and in the glory that is Isfahan in Iran (see "Art for Peace and Iran-West Amity. "Isfahan Matisse" painting" )PLUS figurative elements from 20,000 year old European and Australian aboriginal cave paintings and a stylistic relationship with modern French Henri Matisse and American Jackson Pollock Abstract Expressionism.
 
Just as Tom Lehrer's serious anti-nuclear song is cheerfully satirical, so "Apocalypse Now" is a very colourful exposition. As we go from left to right, we see (together with umpteen little humans going to their doom): (1) an erupting volcano; (2) volcanic eruption pyroclastic flow; (3) molten magma rising; (4) not just one but three earth-bound asteroids; (5) a greenhouse gas-warmed Earth with no polar ice caps; (6) nuclear explosion; (7) earthquake-precipitated tsunami; (8) avalanches on a snow-capped mountain; (9) forest fires; (10) hurricane (cyclone, typhoon); (11) hurricane-impelled storm surge. There is also an overall suggestion of a DNA double helix in the painting, this referring to (12) bacterial or viral plagues.
 
If that were all not enough, as we go from left to right we see giant Goddesses indicative of our significant degree of helplessness in the face of the forces of Nature (whether that of Man, animate Nature or inanimate Nature), specifically a Moon Goddess (tides exacerbating storm surges and tsunamis), an Earth Goddess (encompassing the volcano, magma and earthquakes), a Sun Goddess (the ultimate source of global warming, her radiation being trapped by an increasingly polluted atmosphere) and a Biological Earth Goddess Gaia (whose feedback mechanisms are currently being irretrievably destroyed by Man)(see "War on Terra. Climate Criminals."Terrra" painting" on MWC News).
 
"Apocalypse Now" is the Francis Ford Coppola movie set in the obscenity of the Vietnam War (13 million excess deaths) but based on Joseph Conrad's novel "Heart of Darkness" set in colonial Belgian Congo (10 million Congolese excess deaths under the rapacious Belgians). In Conrad's novel, the grandiose, racist, colonialist  anti-hero Kurtz enunciates "Exterminate all the Brutes", a phrase that became the title for Sven Linqvist's outstanding analysis of European colonial racism from Africa to Auschwitz (see Lindqvist, S. (1992), Exterminate All the Brutes , Granta Books, London, 2002).

Ultimately all these obscenities derived from racist Mainstream European rejection of the outstanding message of the American Declaration of Independence that "All Men are created equal and have an unalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness". Notwithstanding African and Asian de-colonization, the successful pressure for America to stop the Vietnam War, the dismemberment of the Soviet Empire and the fall of South African Apartheid, the Racist Zionists (RZs) and the Racist Bush-ites (RBs) have now convinced the West that current racist conquest, disempowerment, dispossession and ethnic cleansing of Indigenous People is perfectly right and proper.

The world is acutely threatened – some places, much more than others, notably a swathe of countries from Somalia to Pakistan suffering US or US surrogate violence and occupation (Somalia, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq) or, in the cases of Iran and Pakistan,  acutely threatened with horrendous devastation by the world's #1 terrorist state and world's #1 rogue state, Bush America.
 
Bush America is a huge threat to its Conquered Subjects. Thus there have been 8 million excess deaths in the Bush I plus Bush II Wars, the Bush Asian Holocaust). However Bush America is also a major threat to the WHOLE World as briefly outlined below. 

According to Dr John Holdren President of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS, the world's biggest general scientific organization) the three acute threats to the world are (1) nuclear weapons (2) global warming and (3) poverty.

Bush America makes a huge, world-beating  contribution to ALL of these acute threats: 

  1. the US  has the biggest share  (12,000 nuclear weapons) of the world's total of 27,000 nuclear weapons, is violating  treaties such as the Nuclear non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), supports its own and Israeli nuclear weapons in the Middle East and is opposed to the "non-nuclear Middle East" proposal supported by Iran and the Arab states; 
  2. the Bush Administration has only recently grudgingly admitted the reality of climate change; Bush America is among the worst annual per capita greenhouse gas polluters, won't sign Kyoto or limit greenhouse gas emissions (just like racist, Bush-ite Australia)  and is the world's worst greenhouse gas polluter; and
  3.  America with 4.6% of the world's population consumes about 25% of its resources; 16 million people (about 9.6 million being infants) die avoidably each year on Spaceship Earth with greedy, selfish, racist, child-killing, child-abusing Bush America in charge of the Flight Deck.

While expert scientists, psychologists and economists have provided eminently feasible technical solutions to all of these problems, the racism, greed and grandiosity of the Racist Zionists (RZs)  and Racist Bush-ites (RBs)  prevent implementation and acutely threaten the whole world. This threat is made more acute by the sheer delusion of a substantial proportion of the Racist Religious Right Republican (R4) Bush-ites who believe that in the short term the "Good Believers" will be "raptured up" to Heaven and the Devil will take the "sinners" and hindmost (see Professor Richard Dawkins' "The God Delusion")- in which case, according to these nuclear-armed lunatics,  there is no point in saving the whales, the forests, America or indeed the World.
 
What can decent people do, especially those with children and grandchildren? Peace is the only way but silence kills and silence is complicity. Decent people must urgently inform others of the situation – YOU can help very simply by sending the link to this article and the "Apocalypse Now" painting (it won't scare children) to everyone you can.
 
However there is an urgent need for International action to halt the racist violence of the genocide-committing and genocide-denying, holocaust-committing and holocaust-denying,  war criminal, climate criminal Racist Zionist-backed Racist Bush-ites. Sanctions and Boycotts worked against racist Apartheid in South Africa and will no doubt be effective against the Racist Bush-ites, the Racist Zionists and their racist supporters around the world.
 
Decent folk must act urgently - both individually and collectively - by applying Sanctions and Boycotts and, as suggested by conservative American economist (and "Father of Reaganomics") Paul Craig Roberts (see "How the World can stop Bush") BY DUMPING THE US DOLLAR.

I'm not sure if these stats include the USA. They should.  
 
Why does no one study our poverty level? How about our infant mortality rate being reported? Why not look at the educational level of our people?  
 
The rest of the world is crying out. Well, we are crying out, too. This man got into office illegally. Yet, the rest of the world just laughed. Now look where we all in the world are.  
 
Surely, our problems do not in every case compare with others. But, they are just as real.

Bush-linked US deaths NOW
Bush-linked "Apocalypse Now" has already happened for huge numbers of Americans. 
 
By the time Bush Leaves office (if he leaves office) after 8 blood-soaked years, one can compute from publicly available data that IN THOSE EIGHT YEARS: 
 
8 x 18,000/year = 134,000 American deaths from being turned away from hospitals due to lack of health care;  
 
8 x 20,000/year = 160,000 under-5 year old American infants will have died avoidably due to Bush's #1 priority of making war and killing Muslim kids; 
 
8 x 30,000/year = 240,000 Americans will have died from Guns under the pro-Gun Bush Administration; 
 
8 x 10,000/year = 80,000 Americans will have died from opiate drug-related causes and linked to the Bush restoration of the Taliban-destroyed Afghan opium industry from 5% of world market share in 2001 to a current 93% of world market share under US, UK, Australian and NATO occupation. 
 
I could go on to enumerate the AMERICAN deaths from Big Oil- and Bush-promoted cars (8 x 40,000/year = 320,000), Bush-sanctioned and complicit tobacco (8 x 300,000/year = 2,400,000), PLUS the huge mounting burden from obesity (two thirds, 67%, of Americans are obese or overweight and 73% could be by 2008) and type 2 diabetes (7% of Americans have diabetes - 85% type 2 - although 1/3 of these diabetics don't know it because they haven't been diagnosed due to the catastrophic failure of the US privatized health system - the Racist Zionist (RZ)-backed Racist Religious Right Republican (R4) Bush-ites put MONEY ahead of the survival of American infants or indeed of Americans in general - ENROL & VOTE THEM OUT!!!).

US deaths
Regarding that paragraph  
below:

You show wisdom. I am not sure we laughed, but were shocked at the political gymnastics going on in the US. 
All pretense to the World that the US was the bastion of freedom and liberty was dropped at that point in time onwards worse, and worse. 
Thinking people were always aware of the true nature of the US, and of course those who have suffered under it's savage brutality, often by proxy of a US puppet regime. 
Now it outsources torture,  
and condones it. 
The people in the US are kept well in the dark. 
I believe of all the time bombs that await the people of the US, the most immediate is the health issues; bad health, child mortality, drug problems, and what percent of the population are on anti depressants?  
Didn't the Greeks say, "Those who the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad"?

US deaths
Theorists tell us, that culture and tradition is carried forth through women in almost every case.The inner workings of America is making our responsibility more and more difficult.  
 
Domestic abuse and battering, continual abuse, is the number one reason for women to need to be sedated. If these actions were taken with a wartime enemy, the actions would be called torture. In fact, abuse of women by a former or present spouse, abuse by a woman\'s own male children is such that there is almost no assistance for her, let alone her children. 
 
The level of abuse has grown too high for abuse centers to care for. The legal system is so tangled into denial, that it doesn\'t work for the violated rights, which are too numberable to mention, of the abused woman.  
 
So, perhaps it is true, that my nation is going mad. Many, many women already know that a big portion of society, this new breed of abusive men, left sanity behind some time ago. 
 
Who do we vote out? Better still, who do we vote in? Anti-anxiety medication is much more often taken here in the US these days, by women anyway. I say, give each young girl anti-anxiey meds at the first sign of abuse in the family or at school. It is going to be a lifelong suffering for the female as she sees her culture and traditions torn from her. 
 
Indeed where is America\'s future?

Violence to US, Oz children
Violence to women and children is a major problem in both climate criminal America and its Bush-ite ally, racist, climate criminal White Australia.  
 
Hardly surprising that 2 leading rogue states and terrorist states are acutely threateningthe Planet when they have horrendous sexual abuse of THEIR OWN CHILDREN. 
 
Thus the Report into Child Abuse in Australia\'s Northern Territory “Little Children are Sacred” clearly states (p57) that “it is not possible to accurately estimate the extent of child sexual abuse in the Northern Territory”.  
 
No doubt violence to women and chuildren - including child sexual abuse IS occurring in Aboriginal communities - but it is ALSO occurrring in the wider community. 
 
However this has been SELECTIVELY IGNORED by the racist, Bush-ite, Australian Coalition Government and the racist, cowardly, poll-driven Labor Opposition - who TOGETHER claimed the Report justifies their suspension of the 1975 Racial Discrimination Act to RETURN Northern Territories Indigenous Australians to being chattels of a Racist and Genocidal State (see: Child abuse in Racist White Australia.  
 
Thus the Report refers to studies in AMERICA indicating that 25% of females and 10% of males experience childhood sexual abuse (Finkelhor, D. (1994), Current information on the scope and nature of child sexual abuse”, Future of Children, 4(2), pp31-53)  
 
AND in AUSTRALIA indicating that 34% of females and 16% of males experienced non-penetrative abuse with 12% females and 4% of males reporting penetrative child sexual abuse (Dunne, M.P., Purdie, D.M., Cook, M.D., Boyle, F.M. & Najman, J.M.(2003), Is child sexual abuse declining? Evidence from a population-based survey of men and women in Australia, Child Abuse & Neglect, vol. 27 (2), pp141-152).  
 
The US and Australia are the world\'s #1 and #3 terrorist states (UK being #2), but unlike the UK (which is seriously worried over inundation through global warming) the US and Australia are among the world\'s leading per capita greenhouse gas polluters. 
 
If the US is #1 in terms of nuclear, greenhouse and poverty threats, then Racist White Australia comes #2. Thus Australia is (1) a major exporter of uranium to nuclear weapons states (UK, France, US, China and now Russia)and ijtimately linked to US nuclear terrorism; (2) the world\'s big country with the highest annual per capita grenhous gas pollution and the world\'s #1 coal exporter; and (3) a very rich country obscenely involved in the genocidal passive mass murder through ACUTE DEPRIVATION of its Indigenous Subjects - Indigenous Australians, Indigenous Occupied Iraqis and Indigenous Occupied Afghans.  
 
Boycotts, sanctions, international prosecutions are needed -would you have ANY avoidable dealings with Planet-threatening, mass murdering, child-abusing, nuclear terorist climate criminals?

Violence to US, Oz children
May be in knowing, that women carry the traditions of their culture, it is the intention to abuse and disperse women. Although, there is no huge billboard saying to do that. 
 
There are ways to boycott and sanction the US and Autstalia. What do you propose as being a method?

Sanctions, boycotts & trialls
Moonlitetwine - Sanctions and boycotts simply involve individual and collective decision to minimize any avoidable dealings (purchase of services, goods, tourism) with people, corporations and countries complicit in gross human rights abuses. 
 
Trials involve prosecution of war criminals, climate criminals and genocide committers and deniers. Thus today I read that Rumefeld has fled France to escape prosecution for complicity in torture; other Bush Adminstration nasties could similarly be prosecuted for denial of the Armenian Genocide (a criminal offence in France and Belgium).

Sanctions, boycotts & trialls
Thank you. I just read of the Armenian genocide. Are American leaders being saught for the Armenian Genocide or any other number of war crimes? 
 
My complaint is against those not admitting a woman's right to form decisions about child rearing in the traditional sense. Displacment of women from their offspring is occuring in unprecidented numbers. Illness and survival from abuse are two methods of losing a child.  
 
With the displacement of one's mother, tradition and culture is lost, except in the child's memory. Confusion occurs because of this displacement. Anger, obesity, anorexia, self-mutilation (cutting) and petty crimes are just a few of the resulting responses to the loss of tradition and culture.  
 
If the state bears responsibility for these displacements, it is not feasible for a woman to boycott or prosecute the state, as she is generally left with nothing and needs to eat and have shelter, which are state funded.  
 
But, I applaud efforts that are having effect.

stolen children, Apocalypse Now
Moonlitewine - in Australia last century about 0.1 million Indigenous children were forcibly removed from their mothers and when teenagers were then forcibly put out to work for White Australians with their \"Protectors\" (the official term) retaining a substantial part of the minimal \"non-white wages\" (much less than for Whites) - leaving only \"pocket money\". 
 
It is suggested that much of the dietary behaviour leading to the type 2 diabetes epidemic among Indigenous Australians (20% have diabetes, overwhelmingly type 2) can be traced to the fact that these conquered, disposessed slaves were \"paid\" in white flour, tea and sugar on Australian farms (\"stations\"). 
 
This process (referred to as the Stolen Generations) was effectively slave labour coupled with genocidal enforced child removal (I heard an elderly Indigenous Australia woman the other day say \"I didn\'t know what a mother was\").  
 
This process of child removal and slave labour only stopped about 30 years ago - and They (the Racist White Australians) won\'t give back the stolem wages.

Lying, greedy, climate criminal, \"look the other way\" Racist White Australia is complicit in the largely avoidable deaths of Indigenous (Australian Aboriginal, Occupied Iraqi or Occupied Afghan) infants at a rate of ONE EVERY MINUTE.

Reflection.
Reading comments 8 and 9 got me reflecting. Australia has always been involved in genocide of the indigenous people since white settlement, and is that not true of what is now known as the USA? 
If aliens took control of Australia, turned our cathedrals and churches into public toilettes and brothels, banned our language, forced a weird religion on us that made no sense, destroyed our food source, and replaced it with stuff that made us sick, and so on. Where hell would we be?  
Maybe just maybe, if we look deep enough, we can all find our dreaming. 
(The mystical link of our racial spirit, that goes beyond time and location).
