McCain takes on Ron Paul in Republican Debate

McCain tangled on two occasions over the Iraq war, with Ron Paul, a Texas congressman whose libertarian views and opposition to the war have attracted thousands of donors, millions of dollars and a devoted online following.
Asked which government programs they would cut, Paul said bringing the troops home from Iraq would save "a trillion dollars."
McCain accused Paul of promoting isolationism in calling for the United States to disengage from the war. "We allowed (Adolf) Hitler to come to power with that attitude of isolation," he said.
Paul objected, saying McCain had misunderstood his support for nonintervention with isolationism.
"I want to trade with people, talk with people, travel," Paul replied.
Sen. John McCain, freshly back from a visit to Iraq over Thanksgiving, told Ron Paul that our troop are asking you to please let them win.
"The real question you have to ask is why do I get the most money from active duty officers and military personnel?" Paul replied
