“Creating a Better World Based on Freedom and Justice”

Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 2 pm – 5 pm at SFU Downtown Campus

Vancouver - On the eve of World Human Rights Day, the Canadian Students for Darfur, the SFU China Research Association and the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG) will co-host a public forum entitled “Creating a Better World based on Freedom and Justice.”

The Hon.David Kilgour will be keynote speaker at this insightful forum. Other featured speakers will include Don Wright, Amnesty International Regional Coordinator for Pacific-Yukon, Nazanin Afshin-Jam, human rights activist and recording artist, Clive Ansley, China Country Monitor for Lawyers’ Rights Watch Canada and Chair of CIPFG, Miriam Palacios, Public Engagement, Advocacy and Campaign Officer for Oxfam Canada in B.C and Khamis Abdelkarim of Canadian Students for Darfur.

Delegates at the forum will work together to examine ways of “Creating a Better World Based on Freedom and Justice” by using human rights as a platform. To complement this forum, from 12 pm-5:30 pm, various human rights groups will have displays and information tables set up in the centre lounge, providing an opportunity for people to take action.

FLG's organ harvesting allegation discr

The Falun Gong organ allegation Kilgour is promoting has been discredited, most recently by Ottawa Citizen:

At first I was skeptical on this issue. However your insistence on producing the same report as if they were multiple researches made me wonder. Especially when you present yourself as an independent person who is motivations, it's solely to shed light on the truth. I challenge you once more (and please do not insert the same links here, I read them all) to show me, any report that specifically refute the allegation. Because in "all" the reports cited by you the authors acknowledged the possibility and express concern.

Shahram, Mr. Kilgour doesn't say his report specifically proves the allegation either.

I'll agree the truth is somewhere in between.

What a weak argument!

For a regime that sprays paint dried grass green to welcome IOC officials, that still claims no students were killed in Ti'anmen Square in 1989, that bluntly denies the breakout of SARS epidemic, do we really expect them to admit to their crime? When Sujiatun death camp was exposed, why wait for three weeks before inviting US officials to visit? When the source of 41,500 transplants in China for the six year period 2000 to 2005 is unexplained, why not simply provide an explanation? There is a very easy way for the Communist regime to prove its innocence. Just let Kilgour and other human rights organizations to conduct independent invesigation in labor camps, prisons and hospitals in China. Why decline Kilgour's visa application if China really believes organ harvesting is fabricated? Since you are talking about Ottawa Citizen, maybe you should read the following articles on it.

Very interesting expression. China either committed the crime, or didn’t commit it. What’s in between? Maybe out of the 41,500 unexplained organ transplants, half came from Falun Gong practitioners and the other half didn’t. Maybe China only takes liver and kidney but not corneal or heart. Charles, I don’t blame you. You have a job to do. Just think about what you are doing. Seriously, think about what you are doing.

Back up your personal attack

I have a job to do? Nobody asked me or pays me.

Please show some proof of your personal attack.

If you can't, please remmeber when you attack somebody your De leaves your body and benefits your victim.

But I have no desire for such things, of course. Just want to remind you the "Truth Compassion Forbearance" bit...

There probably are isolated cases of politce brutality and abuse contrary to stated laws - as our own society have not rid of such problems.

Like that guy zapped to death at airport, or African American death under police custody in America.

But the facts do demonstrate the live organ harvesting allegation is not credible.

FLG's fundamental fallacy

The fundamental flaw in Falun Gong's claim is the fact Falun Gong disciples are not put to death. Rather, disciples who break laws are sent to deprogramming centers via custodial detention (also known as Laogai).

Is cult deprogramming torture? That's debatable IMHO, but what is true is they are only dead in the sense the sect loses hold on these people after deprogramming.

Here's yet another article unflattering to the Chinese government that speaks to the fact western anti-cult experts were consulted in the Chinese government's effort to deprogram Falun Gong disciples:

There are probably cases of police brutality contrary to stated law, but if there's no death camp then there exists a very different reality than what's alleged.

You are so famous for what you have been doing to attack FLG and protect Chinese Communist government\'s wrongdoing.

So many world organization like AI, UN\'s report shows persecution and killing has been happening in China, no one could deny.

Everyone knows Chinese communist party is good at lying.

If they invite anyone to China to have a look on whether the organ harvesting exists, everyone knows the results.

More evidence of organ harvesting.

Apart from Kigour report, there are several other investigations. One is by Dr. Kirk Allison of the University of Minnesota, another by a European Parliament vice-president, Edward McMillan-Scott. Both came to the same conclusion as Kilgour's.

Take a closer look, Falun Gong's "Chinese spy" accusation against me is unfounded.

The source of this allegation is Jana Shearer, a reporter from Falun Gong's newspaper Epoch Times.

The secret investigation preceeded the official visit, as stated in the CRS report, page 10:

State Dept. undercover investigation

China's abuses are extreme and the CCP does not keep accurate records that are reported to the ILO and UN. They are the only country in the world like this. These are statements from the ILO and UN. China also has the high execution rate in the world. They back up the genocide in Sudan and support all wars through producing ammunition through cheap labor. There is no doubt in my mind they persecute Christians, Falun Gong, and anyone who has an opinion contrary to the CCP. I have no doubt they take organ of Falun Gong and all other prisoners. They admited they harvest organs from prisioners and Falun Gong are prisoners in China. Then the lawyers who defend Falun Gong or anyone else are persecuted for doing so. Many are now in torture camps. Hmm.. Become a human rights lawyer in China and get tortured. Doesn't that show you what the CCP does for justice and human rights?

Here is the Christian website of abuses around the world including China. www.persecution.com

My friend is Chinese Human Rights lawyer who is exiled. My tenant is exiled from Sudan. The list keeps growing. Because I have the living proof in my home and life I tend not to believe those who want to discredit Kilgour and Matas, and others like them.
