Stolen Iraqi oil revenues No one, apart from those in total denial, can claim that the invasion of Iraq was not solely about oil related matters, control of Iraq's oil reserves and the attempted protection of the US dollar as the world reserve currency to be used internationally for oil trades. Many of us are aware that the US Government has been trying to intimidate the puppet Iraqi Government to sign a new "Iraqi Oil Law" which would in affect sign over 70% of Iraq's oil revenue to foreign companies for the next 15 years or so. It was recently claimed in the Akhbar Alkhaleej newspaper http://www.akhbar-alkhaleej.com/Arti...221558&Sn=WORL that Iraqi MP's have been offered bribes of $5 million to each to every MP who votes in favour of the Oil and Gas law. But it was revealed today that $7 billion of Iraqi oil revenue from last year instead of being used to provide clean drinking water, regular electricity supplies, hospitals, food and most importantly , jobs for unemployed Iraqis, instead sits in the Federal Reserve Bank in NY and is invested in U.S. treasuries to help the US economy. They don't really need this new Oil Law, the USA has already stolen the oil revenues. http://wpherald.com/articles/6505/1/...pse-cited.html Furthermore it appears that Bush wants to keep it that way, despite the US Congress approving the National Defence Authorisation Act for Fiscal Year 2008, Bush has challenged and therefore deleted 5 important sections. 1) A commission to probe contracting fraud in Iraq and Afghanistan. 2) Expanding protections for whistleblowers who work for government contractors. 3) A third requires that U.S. intelligence agencies promptly respond to congressional requests for documents. 4) Banning funding for permanent bases in Iraq . 5) Banning any attempt to stop any action that exercises U.S. control over Iraq's oil money. link is here http://www.mathaba.net/rss/?x=580084 Reference link is here http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/relea...0071228-5.html Memorandum of Disapproval Michael Lee-Oxford UK
