 | | Urawa Reds fans await a visit from Kuwait's Al Qadsia in the ACL quarter-finals | Japan's Urawa Red Diamonds, defending champions, will face Kuwait's Al Qadsia in the AFC Asian Champions League quarter-finals.
The finals draw, which was held at AFC House in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, also paired Iran's Saipa with Uzbekistan's Kuruvchi, while Al Karama, Syrian champions, will take on Gamba Osaka. Japan's Kashima Antlers, the third Japanese side in the final eight, will face Australia's Adelaide United. Adelaide became the first Australian club to progress to the knock-out phase of Asia's premier club football competition when they drew 0-0 with China's Changchun Yatai earlier this week to top Group E. Kashima qualified for the quarters after topping Group F with 15 points and are currently placed 6th in Japan's J-League. The semis also take place over two legs - scheduled for October 8 and 22, with the finals to be played on November 5 and November 12. The Urawa Reds defeated Iranian club Sepahan FC 3-1 on aggregate in the 2007 final to take last season's Asian Champions League title.
