Impeachment Happening in Congress Right Now!

Congressman Dennis Kucinich is on the floor of the House of Representatives right now introducing 35 articles of impeachment against President George W. Bush.

Bob Fertik, President of Democrats.com, said: "We've waited seven years to find one Member of Congress brave enough to stand up for our Constitution, for which generations of Americans have fought and died. We are thrilled and honored that Dennis Kucinich has chosen to be that one genuine patriot. We congratulate him on his historic leadership, and pledge to do everything in our power to persuade Congress to adopt all 35 Articles and put George W. Bush on trial before the Senate of the United States, exactly as the Founding Fathers wanted."

Fertik continued, "Some might question why Congressman Kucinich has done this now. My question is why 434 other Congress Members have not done it before. Despite the uncountable and unspeakable crimes this administration has committed, George Bush and Dick Cheney remain in power and immune from prosecution. Congress must impeach Bush and Cheney now - before they further abuse their power by pardoning for all of their crimes."

David Swanson, creator of ImpeachCheney.org, Washington Director of Democrats.com and co-founder of the AfterDowningStreet.org coalition, said: "Congressman Kucinich is the first, but we will be pressuring 434 other Representatives to join him. We must act to prevent an attack on Iran and to reestablish the rule of law for future administrations.

"Bush has had many accomplices,  first and foremost Vice President Cheney. But our Founders created a single executive precisely so that we could hold that one person accountable for the actions of the Executive Branch. It is high time we did so, and millions of Americans will be urging their representatives to support the effort being led by Congressman Kucinich.

"Bush's public comments have time and again advertised his indifference to the laws he is violating. Not only does overwhelming evidence show us that Bush knew his claims about WMDs to be false, but the president has shown us that he considers the question of truth or falsehood to be laughably irrelevant. When Diane Sawyer asked Bush during a televised interview after the war was underway why he had claimed with such certainty that there were so many weapons in Iraq, he replied: 'What's the difference? The possibility that [Saddam] could acquire weapons, if he were to acquire weapons, he would be the danger.'"

Swanson continued, "What's the difference? Hundreds of thousands of corpses and a fatal blow to the rule of law among nations. That's the difference - unless we remove impeachment from the Constitution by failing to exercise it, in which case truth will no longer matter any more than justice or peace."

Kucinich is in fact the second, not the first, to introduce articles of impeachment. McKinney did it in 2006.

Mr
There is no doubt the Bush administration is guilty of treason and sedition. Look at his quote about the Constitution, the very foundation of the United States government.

"Stop throwing the Constitutionin my face. It's just a God damn piece of paper."

George W. Bush

I say impeach Bush and Cheney and put them on trial. Both sitting in a prison cell would make a statement to the world that this nation will uphold the rule of law, no matter who you are.

World loves Kucinich America.
Message with links fixed.

Dennis Kucinich is a GREAT American - he represents the wonderful, decent, America of "all men are created equal and have an unalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" that is still loved around the World DESPITE the nearly 8 years of Racist Religious Right Republican (R4) Bush-ite lying, mis-rule and mass murder that has trashed America's wealth, health and international reputation.

According to 2001 US Economics Nobel Laureate Professor Joseph Stiglitz, the accrual cost of the Iraq War ($3 TRILLION) has bankrupted America (see: Award winning economist says America has bankrupted itself with the Iraq war.

Bush has committed many crimes against America and the World but the MAJOR, Nazi-style crime - in which Bush-ite McCain and neo-Bush-ite Hillary Clinton are both complicit - is the War on Terror, which is based on egregious racist, lying and violence and is now associated with post-invasion violent and non-violent excess deaths in the Occupied Iraq and Afghan Territories of 2 million and 3-5 million, respectively; post-invasion under-5 infant deaths totaling 0.6 million and 2.3 million, respectively; and refugees totaling 4.5 million and 4 million, respectively ( see: Palestinian, Iraqi, Afghan, Biofuel and Climate Genocides – Silence Kills and Silence is Complicity ).

An Australian group of doctors, lawyers and politicians has just sent a 52 page legal brief to the International Criminal Court charging Bush's loyal Australian lackey, former Australian PM John Howard, with war crimes (see: Howard accused of war crimes over Iraq troop deployment).

I have sent 3 such formal complaints to the ICC over Bush Alliance war crimes (see: Formal complaint to the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court re Australian Government involvement in Aboriginal Genocide, Iraqi Genocide, Afghan Genocide and Climate Genocide) (see: Formal Complaint to International Criminal Court (ICC) over Australia and Aboriginal, Iraqi, Afghan & Climate Genocides). ).

World loves Kucinich America.
Well said Gideon,

Dennis Kucinich is the lone voice of reason in the wilderness of ignorance and apathy that is today's America. He is a true patriot whose voice nullmust be heard and acted upon. Americans need to demand impeachment in order to maintain a healthy Democracy based on the rule of law...

Anybody here from OH?
Kucinich needs to represent the people of Ohio and not these kook types you find in Calif and NYC. Bush admin. is not guilty of anything. Kucinich is guilty for not representing Ohio's best interest. No one listens to this guy.

PS I had to chuckle when someone reminded everyone that FORMER kook congresswoman Cynthia McKenney introduced these articles. Yeah that's who I want to stand with, the ultimate left wing pariah who was persona non grata in the end.

How many AMERICANS did Bush kill?
Here are some rough estimates of how many AMERICANS have died associated with the policies of the Bush Administration.

1. 4,094 US servicemen in killed Iraq, 517 killed in Afghanistan (29,978 and about 2,500 wounded, respectively; hundreds of thousands psychologically scarred)(see: US casualties in Iraq and US casualties in Afghanistan.)

2. It has been estimated that 20,000 under-5 year old American infants die avoidably each year - disproportionately African-American and Hispanic one presumes - due to warped Bush priorities; that\'s 20,000 x 8 = 160,000 dead American infants under Bush (see: How Bush killed 100,000 American infants .)

3. Tobacco use is the leading preventable cause of death in the United States. Cigarette smoking causes an estimated 438,000 deaths, or about 1 of every 5 deaths, each year. This estimate includes approximately 38,000 deaths from secondhand smoke exposure (see: CDC Fact Sheet
Tobacco-Related Mortality
.)

4. Decent Governments legislate to minimize harm to citizens from \"life-style choices\" (e.g. obesity, alcohol, smoking, cars, drugs etc) or at the hands of others. The following data are from the Centre for Disease Control for 2004 - multiply by 8 to get the Bush-complicit Death Toll : total from disease and violence 2,397,615; \"life-style\": heart 652,496; cerebrovascular 150,074; nephrotic disease 42,480; chronic liver and cirrhosis 27,013; hypertension and renal hypertension 23,076; diabetes 73,138); accidents: 112,012; suicide: 32,439; assault, 17,357
(see: CDC data on American avoidable deaths.)

5. About 30,780 Americans die each year in gun-related deaths i.e. 30,780 x 8 = 246,240 deaths under gun-toting Bush Administration (see: US gun-related deaths, 2001.)

6. About 15,000 Americans die each year from opiate drug-related causes i.e. 15,000 x 8 = 120,000 deaths under Bush, and substantially due to Bush restoration of the Taliban-destroyed Afghan opium industry from about 5% of world share in 2001 pre-invasion to a current 93% of world market share
(see: UN Office on Drugs & Crime, UNODC.)

6. And you can add another 3,000 American deaths to Bush\'s \"body count\" if former president of Italy, law professor, senator-for-life and intelligence intimate Francesco Cossiga is correct and the US and Israel did 9/11 (see: former Italian president Cossiga: US & Israel did 9/11.) Even Al Gore believes that Bush was criminally negligent over 9/11 (see \"The Assault on Reason\").

That\'s a lot of AMERICAN deaths in which George W. Bush is complicit in addition to the estimated 5-9 million violent and non-violent post-invasion excess deaths in the Occupied Iraqi and Afghan Territories (see: Palestinian, Iraqi, Afghan, Biofuel and Climate Genocides – Silence Kills and Silence is Complicity).

Dennis Kucinich\'s list of Bush\'s crimes is just the beginning.

Tell everyone you can.

Message from Ramsey Clark
Impeachment is not a political question. Impeachment is a constitutional duty. It is the one power and highest duty the Constitution rests in the Congress to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States when the President, Vice President, and other civil officers of the United States commit treason, bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors.

George Bush has deliberately, falsely and systematically mislead the Congress and the American people concerning the most criminal, costly and harmful acts of his administration, leading us to war, tragic loss of human life, the devastation of Iraq, military expenses reaching trillions of dollars, disruption of the economy that will take decades to overcome, a contemptuous assault on the Bill of Rights, an international humanitarian disaster, deliberate antagonism and provocation of nations and people, most once friendly, and an enlarging assault on the earth's environment.

On June 5, 2008, a long delayed five year U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence study and 170-page report unanimously found President Bush, Vice President Cheney and other top officers had made false charges and systematically presented a more dire picture about Iraq than justified by intelligence provided only to them. The Committee included both Democrats and Republicans.

Today President Bush is exerting all his power and influence to repeatedly urge Europe, Israel and others to support an attack on Iran which he intends to commence in the remaining months of the presidency. Iran is larger than Iraq and Afghanistan, has millions of people, richer by a multiple, unimpaired by recent war and will fight fiercely if attacked. He is negotiating a permanent U.S. military presence in Iraq placing the U.S. on Iran's border.

The next several Presidents of the United States will spend their time in office miserably fighting wars started by Bush, as our economy is consumed in military spending.

Impeachment, a Constitutional duty, is the only way to prevent George W. Bush and his cabal from vastly enlarging the disastrous wars he has already inflicted on the world and the American people. The House of Representatives must quickly consider Bills of Impeachment long overdue, and the Senate must prepare to sit in judgment of President Bush, Vice President Cheney other officers who are implicated.
