Journalist Raped by State Police; Story Ignored by AP
June 26: While entering his home country from a trip abroad, a member of the press was detained, tortured, beaten, and sodomized by militants of the foreign state that illegally occupies his country. The victim is Palestinian journalist Mohammed Omer; the assailants are the Israeli state police force known as the Shin Bet.
What was Mohammed's crime? Reporting on the daily life of his people under that brutal foreign occupation, and being well-respected and honored for it by his international peers.
This violent turn of events is nothing new to anyone even slightly familiar with the daily routine of the sadistic Israeli occupation army and its armed tributaries. But too few people know. As usual, mainstream media are doing their best to conceal the Israeli crime via under-reporting. The Associated Press is the worst of the bunch: they have yet to publish even one wire report on the story.
IPS has covered the story:

The BBC, Thomson Reuters, and Ha'aretz (Israeli newspaper) have covered it (albeit in their typical, distorted, state-worshiping form):

But the world's largest and most widely-disseminated news wire service — The Associated Press — has not covered this story of the journalist who was physically and psychologically raped by armed state thugs.
Call and/or email AP and politely ask them to report on MOHAMMED OMER's ordeal.
