Letter to Eutelsat:

I am a concerned Canadian resident and I pray that my message reaches the heart of sensible and honest executives at Eutelsat [satellite broadcaster of New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV)]. I am writing about the fact that Eutelsat is closing the broadcasting of NTDTV to China and canceling the contract unilaterally. I’m sincerely hoping that my plea will make a difference before making your final decision.

You should know by now about the illegal persecution launched by the Chinese Communist Regime on millions of Falun Gong Practitioners that started 9 years ago and still continues unabated today.  So many Chinese who don't know the true character of the persecution are still reporting their neighbors for practicing Falun Gong exercises and colleagues, including beloved ones to the police. Thanks to NTDTV which reports on this crackdown based on lies and defamation, more people are becoming aware of the big picture. What Mr. David Kilgour and Mr. David Matas described in their report entitled “Bloody Harvest” reflects the real situation that Falun Gong practitioners are facing in China and who are subjected to organ theft for profit. Here’s why I value NTDTV in a nutshell. Firstly, NTDTV really serves the people. In 2003, the CCP deliberately concealed the outbreak of SARS, almost causing the disaster to spread around the world. However, several weeks before the outbreak of SARS, NTDTV had repeatedly warned the whole world about the spreading of this disease. Today another new disease called Hand-Foot-Mouth Disease or HFMD has been widely spreading in China.  Sadly in order to save its face before the upcoming Olympics, the CCP again decided to hide the truth about this dangerous disease from the whole world. Meanwhile, NTDTV is the only Chinese TV reporting the worsening epidemic situation to people outside China. Lately NTD had been extremely helpful to earthquake victims monitoring the culminating quake catastrophes in Sichuan whereas state TV was focusing on glamorizing their relief effort without reporting on the many problem areas.

When the Communist Party was passing the Olympic Torch in Paris last April, the good-hearted French people launched a legal protest to call for an end of CCP's Global Human Rights violations. However, in China, the CCP distorted the whole story, and incited the mob to attack numerous French Companies operating in China. The cashier counters of Carrefour supermarkets were smashed into pieces. The NTDTV reported the truth to people in China immediately, telling Chinese people that the incident in Paris was not hatred toward China and Chinese people but instead it was a call from good-hearted French people calling on the CCP to respect human rights. There are many such examples but I won’t list them all here.

Most importantly, through NTDTV’s truthful reporting, more and more Chinese people found out about the forced organ harvesting crimes committed by the CCP and the fact that 40 millions Chinese people have quit the Chinese Communist Party. As time goes on, there will be more people who will become aware of the reality of this inhumane persecution and some day soon I hope that Chinese people will have a brighter future without the CCP.

For all these reasons and many more, it is simply not acceptable to shut down this Chinese media, which is the only one telling the truth to the whole world about many sensitive situations in China.

I would like to indicate to Eutelsat--at this critical time when the Chinese people are so much in need of knowing the truth—that shutting down NTDTV signal is thus pushing the people striving for the truth back into the darkness. Please allow me to stress that sacrificing Chinese people’s conscience as you did in 2005 and this time again to please the CCP is not the way to go.

Finally, I would like to quote Ms.Vino-Elad, a famous actress from Israel: “I came here to cry out: there is a holocaust, and it is taking place in China because we are allowing it to happen. Not only are we allowing it to happen, we are also funding it, and strengthening the power of those responsible.”
