A Palestinian woman has died during an Israeli raid near Jerusalem.

Relatives said Mariam Ayyad, 57, attempted to block Israeli soldiers from arresting university students in her building in the village of Abu Dis on Sunday.

They said she was beaten and pushed and she fell down the stairs.

The Israeli military denies she was pushed by soldiers, saying only that she fell on a stairway.

The director of the clinic where Ayyad was taken said she arrived dead, with a broken skull and possible internal bleeding.

In a separate incident, a Palestinian boy was killed on Saturday in Israeli fire in Nablus in the West Bank.
