CBC: Pleae stop bullying Falun Gong!

I just finished watching the report broadcasted by CBC: Malaise dans le Chinatown/Enquete and what an appalling report that was!  I almost couldn't believe my eyes that our very own CBC, which is supposed to be a decent national broadcaster, would produce something as derogatory as this.

Let me explain--the eerie music, weird camera angles, except for Mr. Crescent Chau of La Presse Chinoise and all his friends, all the other characters in the program were portrayed as secretive and strange, and the most demonized group, of course, was Falun Gong.  What I can't understand is how could CBC manipulate such a report and present this as factual information to its Canadian audience.  After all the Falun Gong is a well known and well-respected spiritual group across the world, except for China where its followers are tortured and even killed for their belief.

The whole program is reminiscent of the reports that one would see in China vilifying Falun Gong to legitimize the perpetrators' persecution (of Falun Gong). And the most incredible thing, Crescent Chau, the man who was asked  twice by the court to stop slandering Falun Gong and both times has violated  this order, was portrayed as a victim.  There is definitely something wrong with the picture.

From what I can see, the Falun Gong group who go to Chinatown to raise  awareness to the persecution is a very small and vulnerable group: it looks  like half of the members are seniors and the majority of the group are  women, also some children and westerners. They merely meditate or tell the facts of the persecution to passers-by.  Very peaceful energy!

But it is clear to me that this show will basically ruin the reputation of Falun Gong across Canada. That is a high price to pay for victims who are trying to stop genocide of their counterparts in China.

So please CBC, I think you owe a sincere apology to this peaceful group of human rights fighters. At the very least I would hope that CBC would think again before producing such misleading programs. All things considered it makes one wonder whether CBC was hired by the Chinese Embassy to produce this piece of propaganda empathising with the regime's persecutors instead of the victims. For decades dictators have used hate propaganda to justify their crimes and CBC shouldn't be used to fuel their genocidal campaigns.

Falun Wrong
Yes, I agree that the Falun Gong are being unjustly persecuted by the Chinese government, though many of the Falun Gong's more extreme and lurid accusations smack of propaganda, and, like any other religious group, should be allowed to practice their superstitious nonsense in peace.

However, they are not precisely what they'd like you to believe. They're a flying saucer cult, not that much different from Scientology, and the writings of their founder, Li Hongzhi, are repugnantly racist and homophobic (he abhors interracial marriage and is highly critical of gays).

One wonders where they get the money for their huge media operation (The Epoch Times, free for the taking on a street corner near you). If I were a speculating man, I'd be looking at a certain "three letter agency" in the US with a long history of such manipulation. But that's just me.

The Falun Gong, living proof that even paranoids have real enemies.

Steve is a lier. Probably a chinese regime collaborate.

Whydo you write thesestupid things about FG. I don't know if you are just brainwashed by the CCP propaganda,or uninformed, or what the problem is.

Any one that have studied the writings,or listened to Li Hongzhi's lectureswriting knows that you just write lies and is echoing the stupid propaganda. This is now 2008 - and it's very strange that this propaganda still find it's way out in western media.

Why did CBC do this?

How could they make it up for the damage they do?
