Corrupt Apartheid Australia Ignores Science for Private Profit

Australia is Downunder to Northern Hemisphere folk but when it comes to its pro-coal, pro-pollution climate change policies, world leading per capita greenhouse gas polluter Australia is truly upside-down and anti-science.

Australians regard their system of governance as clean and incorruptible except for the odd corrupt public official. However in Downunder Australia the reality is an upside-down obverse in which a corrupt Apartheid Australian Government ignores top scientific and economic advice in the interests of the private profit of powerful vested interests.

In reality the major parties in Australia are funded to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars by corporations seeking legislative or administrative favors and elections are based on the magnitude of cash-grant bribes handed out to voters. In the 2007 elections the then Labor Party Opposition (the Labs) eventually won - and very likely did so in part because it offered the voters $35 billion in bribes whereas the ruling Liberal Party-National Party Coalition (the Libs), traditionally known for economic conservatism and economic competence, could only bring itself to offer about $30 billion in bribes.

Extreme right wing, pro-war, pro-occupation, pro-Zionist, pro-coal Australia is notoriously corrupt – but is currently wracked by an almost pointless public debate over an alleged corruption issue in which there was apparently no actual pecuniary benefit for the provider of election support to the now PM of the present Labor government.

Several weeks ago the Coalition Leader of the Opposition, Malcolm Turnbull - remarkably unpopular in Australia, probably because he is well-informed, articulate and intelligent - thought he was on a good thing. At a Senate Committee hearing a top public servant Godwin Grech (!) revealed in almost tearful testimony that the Treasury was under pressure to help a car dealer friend of the PM Kevin Rudd who had been very helpful to Rudd in the 2007 election campaign by providing him with a Utility Truck (called a Ute in Australia and hence the phrase Utegate Scandal used to describe this affair). A key e-mail published by the major conservative media ostensibly provided documentary evidence of this “corruption”. In Parliament, Mr Turnbull demanded the resignation of PM Rudd and Treasurer Wayne Swan on the basis of this and other evidence.

Unfortunately for Opposition Leader Turnbull the famous e-mail turned out to be forgery after rapid investigation by the Australian Federal Police (AFP). Godwin Grech has medical problems, he has now confessed to faking the e-mail and the Government and media are baying for Turnbull’s blood.

However there is virtually no Mainstream public discussion over the Elephant in the Corner of coal-industry funded, pro-coal Labor refusing to act on climate change while simultaneously pretending to do so – blatant corruption involving remorseless support for vested interests against top scientific and economic advice and against both national and global interests.

Australia is the world’s biggest coal exporter and is a leading per capita greenhouse gas polluter. Thus, as of 2008, “annual per capita greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution” in units of “tonnes CO2-equivalent per person per year” (2005-2008 data) is 0.9 (Bangladesh), 2.2 (India), 5.5 (China), 6.7 (the World), 11 (Europe), 27 (the US) and 30 (Australia; or 54 if Australia’s huge Exported CO2 pollution is included. Yet the Rudd Labor Government’s approach to the worsening Climate Emergency is to propose a fraudulent Carbon Trading Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) that:

1. is falsely called a Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme or CPRS (it will actually increase Australia’s Domestic and Exported GHG pollution by 80% by 2050 and involves returning most of the Pollution Licence receipts back to the worst polluters) [2];

2. commits to “5% off 2000 GHG pollution by 2020” (whereas top analysts argue for “cutting GHG emissions by 80% by 2020”) [3];

3. commits to increasing GHG pollution (whereas top climate scientists are demanding a decrease of atmospheric CO2 from the present over 390 ppm to 300ppm) [4];

4. involves a target of 20% renewable energy by 2020 (whereas many expert analysts including scientists, countries, communities and activists, from Nobel Laureate Al Gore to national and community climate action organizations, are demanding “100% renewable energy by 2020” [5]; and

5. ignores expert advice from top climate scientists and climate economists that Carbon Trading is ineffective at best (as shown by the EU ETS that has been associated with an increase in GHG pollution) and at worst is a fraudulent Ponzi or Madoff scheme that will create a Carbon Credits and Derivatives bubble that will make the recent global market collapse look like a picnic [6].

These concerns are summarized in the letter by me below that was published (except for the last paragraph) on 5 August 2009 by Australia’s leading newspaper, The Age, under the headline “Truth, ”slies” and how MPs deceive us”.

“In the gretching that passes for public debate, let’s not forget that Malcolm Turnbull’s “crime” was to act forthrightly in the public interest in the Parliament on the basis that the public testimony from a top public servant before a Senate Committee was truthful.

The real bad guys are Labor who were in receipt of car dealer money and put in a multi-billion dollar scheme to assist car dealers – it is called corruption in most countries.

Labor has compounded its crime by essentially asserting that MPs must all assume a priori that all public servants are lying.

Of course while Labor MPs take care to avoid lying themselves, many are guilty of “slies” or spin-based untruths - of which the most appalling is “we are tackling climate change”.

Thus Australia’s world leading per capita greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution continues unabated under coal union-funded, coal industry-backed, pro-coal Labor.

Further, Labor offers a fraudulent ETS, 20% renewable energy by 2020, “5% off 2000 GHG pollution by 2020” and increased GHG pollution - whereas top climate experts demand an honest Carbon Tax approach, “100% renewable energy by 2020”, “cut carbon pollution 80% by 2020” and reduction of atmosphere CO2 to 300 ppm.

On Skype I joke with young Northern Hemisphere members of our family that I am standing on my head down here Downunder in Australia so that they can see me right-side-up on their computer screen . However in our Orwellian-Goebbelsian world one has to turn to brilliant satire to find fictional scenarios as plausible as the actuality of Australia’s current upside-down morality.

Thus in Samuel Butler's novel “Erewhon" (roughly "Nowhere" backwards) the hero found a world in which conventional morality was turned upside down – sick people were treated very badly and the sicker they were the worse they were treated. In contrast, sociopaths in Erewhon were treated with great solicitude and the more evil and violent they were, the greater the kindness shown them. This of course has now been realized in the American Empire.

Where better to turn to in this upside-down analysis than to Downunder, Australia, the Land of Oz, the Land of Flies, Lies and Slies (spin- based untruths) – a country in which politically correct racism (PC racism) is de rigeur. Thus White Australians will vehemently deny that they are racists but they live in a country that has stripped Indigenous People in the Northern Territory of fundamental human rights and which is variously involved in what scholars refer to as the race-based, ongoing Aboriginal Genocide (Indigenous Genocide), Palestinian Genocide, Iraqi Genocide, Afghan Genocide and – vastly worse – a worsening Climate Genocide that is set to kill 10 billion non-Europeans this century due to unaddressed man-made global warming (with Australia being a major culprit) [7].

While the Australian Government’s pro-pollution and pro-coal policies are evidently linked to massive funding from pro-coal unions and business groups, its pro-war, pro-occupation, pro-genocide and pro-Zionist policies derive from massive pro-war, pro-Zionist, American-owned media that have made pro-US, pro-war and pro-Zionist positions mandatory for major party politicians and Mainstream commentators. Indeed the Australian Labor Party (ALP) has become a climate criminal protection racket for big business, the carbon polluters and for traitorous, dual citizen racist Zionists (RZs) with primary allegiance to a racist, nuclear terrorist, war criminal rogue state, racist Zionist-run Apartheid Israel.

The racism- and genocide-complicit Australian Labor Party (ALP) has become the Apartheid Labor Party, the Apartheid Israel-supporting Labor Party. Australia, which reached an apogee of civilized anti-racism under fomer Labor PMs Gough Whitlam and Bob Hawke, has now officially become Apartheid Australia that supports Apartheid at home, in Apartheid Israel and in the Occupied Palestinian, Iraqi, Afghan, Haitian and Somali Territories. Indeed, just as the land that was called Palestine (or variants thereof) for 3,000 years has become Apartheid Israel, and the United States of America has become the United States of Israel, so Australia (Oz) has become UStralia, Ozrael and Ozraelia.

The pro-war, pro-coal, pro-Zionist Apartheid Australian Government has policies that will see the destruction of Australia’s Kakadu World Heritage wetlands, the Murray-Darling River System and the Great Barrier Reef (coral will die above the CO2 concentration of 450 ppm that is evidently the minimum target of the pro-coal, climate criminal, business–as-usual Australian Labor Government).

If the World wants to save itself and Australia’s (and the World’s) Great Barrier Reef it should apply Sanctions, Boycotts, Green Tariffs, reparations litigations and International Criminal Court (ICC) criminal prosecutions to Apartheid Australia, UStralia, Ozrael, Ozraelia and its war criminal, climate criminal, US Alliance associates.

Not the Half of it...

As an Australian ex-pat who finds nothing but disgust for a nation that can support a criminal act of illegal, immoral, aggressive and violent war resulting in the destruction of a nation, murder of a million of its citizens and displacement of a further 4 million as refugees. Six years after the event, with all the lies and excuses thoroughly exposed as fraudulent, the nation exists in a state of denial and conspicuously ignores the subject.

As someone who has spent the 37 years of my growing political awareness critically examining the true nature of my country I find nothing to dispute in what Dr Polya has had to say here except that he appears to be unaware that Australia is not governed from within Australia. Like many countries in the world, including the United States, it is owned and run economically by global corporations and politically by a puppet government of corrupt sycophants no different to the Raj of India or Dutch East Indes.

I say “appears” because, of course, Dr Polya would be aware of this. However, the Australian denial is so entrenched, to the point of absurd irrationality with the absolute and complete acceptance of “Australia and the World according to Rupert Murdoch”, that the mere mention of such facts brings complete discredit to the speaker, cries of “heresy”, “dole bludger!”, “dickhead” and a plethora of other Australian superlatives. After a thick wall of intellectual impenetrability has been built around the speaker the crowd chants in unison “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi” for ten minutes to quell the episode before dispersing. And so Dr Polya’s reflex is a natural one.

Prior to the coup the corruption was safely confined to a privileged pseudo-aristocracy in which the rights to all Australian resources passed arbitrarily to members of this elite and on to their heirs, the likes of Lang Hancock who received an income of $25M annually due to “his discovery” of Iron Ore in the Pilbara and thus earned the right to call himself a “businessman” and an “entrepreneur” and thereafter go about advising governments on all things from the making of scones to censorship.

According to Lang Hancock, \"Mining in Australia occupies less than one-fifth of one percent of the total surface of our continent and yet it supports 14 million people. Nothing should be sacred from mining whether it’s your ground, my ground, the blackfellow’s ground or anybody else’s. So the question of Aboriginal land rights and things of this nature shouldn’t exist.\".

In more senses than one that statement is the cornerstone of the state of Australia today. A nation of oblivious, brain-dead people unaware that their “well managed economy” is a hobby farm of 23million largely unproductive people who haven’t any opinions and haven’t any ideas. They live in a managed institution funded by the small change tossed to them by the corporations that annually steal a wealth in minerals beyond the nation’s capacity for imagination. And probably a good thing for a nation that has cannibalised it’s best and most precious land under urban sprawl, culled its forests for the sake of preserving jobs that cost more to insure than the workers earn, dried up its rivers irrigating rice and cotton, hasn’t conducted a successful national project since the war-time immigrants completed the Snowy Mountains Scheme and thinks it was a major achievement to establish a rail link between the north and south of the continent before the end of the last century.

In the other sense, it represents the essence of what Dr Polya is saying in that in Australia “nothing should be sacred from mining”, certainly not morality. So when Global Corporate Capitalism wants a nation subdued to steal its resources, Australia returns to the “nothing is sacred” motto and lends its “good name” to the enterprise. After all, we only had to send a few thousand troops as a token gesture of “committed support” for the coalition of the killing.

So, yes Dr Polya, I share your sentiments, but it\'s only half the picture.

There has been atmospheric cooling the last 8 years, and no new high global annual temperatures in the last 11 years. None of the computer models replicate this fact. Anthropogenic (or man caused) global warming is not proved.

The global warming adherents base their argument of proof on more than 20 different computer models called general circulation models (also known as global climate models or GCMs). Each computer model is composed of dozens of mathematical equations representing known scientific laws, theories, and hypotheses. Each equation has one or more constants. The constants associated with known laws are very well defined. The constants associated with known theories are generally accepted but probably some of them may be off by a factor of 2 or more, maybe even an order of magnitude. The equations representing hypotheses, well, sometimes the hypotheses are just plain wrong. Then each of these equations has to be weighted against each other for use in the computer models, so that adds an additional variable (basically an educated guess) for each law, theory, and hypothesis. This is where the models are tweaked to mimic past climate measurements.

The SCIENTIFIC METHOD is: (1) Following years of academic study of the known physical laws and accepted theories, and after reviewing some data, come up with a hypothesis to explain the data. (2) Develop a plan to obtain and analyze new data. (3) Collect and analyze the data, this may even require new technology not previously available. (4) Determine if the hypothesis is correct, needs refinement, or is wrong. Either way, new data is available for other researchers. (5) Submit results, including data, for peer review and publication.

The output of the computer models run out nearly 90 years forward is considered to be data, but it is not a measurement of a physical phenomenon. Also, there is no way to analyze this so called data to determine if any or which of the hypotheses in the models are correct, need refinement, or are wrong. Also, this method cannot indicate if other new hypotheses need to be generated and incorporated into the models. IT JUST IS NOT THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD.

The worst flaw in the AGW argument is the treatment of GCM computer generated outputs as data. They then use it in follow on hypotheses. For example, if temperature rises by X degrees in 50 years, then Y will be effected in such-and-such a way resulting in Z. Then the next person comes along and says, well, if Z happens, the effect on W will be a catastrophe. “I need (and deserve) more money to study the effects on W.” Hypotheses, stacked on hypotheses, stacked on more hypotheses, all based on computer outputs that are not data, using a process that does not lend to proof using the SCIENTIFIC METHOD. Look at their results, IF, MIGHT, and COULD are used throughout their news making results. And when one of the underlying hypotheses is proven incorrect, well, the public only remembers the doomsday results 2 or three iterations down the hypotheses train. The hypotheses downstream are not automatically thrown out and can even be used for more follow on hypotheses.

Oz ruled by UK-US elites

I agree with Allen Jasson's sentiments about "who runs Australia".

The secretive White Australia Policy by government regulation on British insistence in 1901 (so as not to upset 300 million non-European British subjects/slaves); the sacking of NSW Premier Jack Lang by the NSW Governor at the behest of British bankers in 1932; the sacking of PM Whitlam at the behest of the Americans in the 1975 coup; the vetoing of Labor leader Mark Latham by the US Ambassador Schieffer (Schiefferbrains") in the 2004 election (for wanting to withdraw from Iraq by Christmas) ; Kevin Rudd's NY meeting with Kingmaker media mogul Rupert Murdoch before the 2007 election; Australian participation in ALL post-1950 US Asian wars (excess deaths 25 million) etc etc etc - all clearly support Allen's thesis that Australia is ruled by US-UK elites.

Top Scientists VS Anon sceptics

Climate sceptic post #2 is utterly incorrect to the point of absurdity.

1. Science is about critically testing potentially falsifiable hypotheses - it is about DIS-proving propositions, not about proving them. The overwhelming international consensus of scientists who say man-made global warming is a massive reality would no doubt be DELIGHTED if the anthropogenic global warming (AGW)hypothesis were disproved - but unfotunately, to their increasing alarm, it hasn't been and things are getting worse to the point that the planet is approaching irreversble, catastrophic tipping points.

2. It is no longer simply about "projections" - it is also about the massive climate disruption that has ALREADY occurred (I am writing this looking at my Australian garden where Spring has arrived a month too early) - species extinction rates 100-1000 times greater than the fossil record; the melting of the Arctic sea ice, West Antarctic ice sheets, Greenland, Himalayan and other glaciers; huge warming of the OCEANS etc etc.

Readers of this threasd - you don't have to be advised to place greater weight on the advice from top world climate change scientists rather than the opinions of uncredentialled, anonymous, climate sceptic bloggers (see: Excellent Climate Change Power Point Lectures by top climate scientists ).
