How can Obama be a Nazi Communist?

There is a real infectious, raving madness abroad in the country today.  I am mystified by the intensity of it, the amount of press and pundit attention it is getting and the absence of any logic or evidence behind it.  Of course the behavior of Fox News, Glenn Beck, Limbaugh, etc, etc, who have been gleefully fanning the flames, is unconscionable.  The thought that ratings/dollars may be the big motivator for these demagogues is enough to make one vomit.

I have been monitoring some of the Right Wing blogs just to see if I could make any sense of at least what they are saying to each other.  Most of the comments consist of a lot of hyperventilated rage and ranting.  They are even raising, from its grave, the antique specter of The Red Menace!  It is scary.  It is even scarier when it is impossible to verify anything they are claiming -- especially for Obama.  Nearly every wild assertion they make does not check out on any reliable site, like Snopes.com or the Annenberg Fact Check site.

They must realize at some level deep in their minds that there is no rational basis for what they are raging over.  These people are hyping each other up and up and up in an ever increasing gyre of irrational hatred and violence. I really expect them soon to move from vocalizations in English sentences into a mutually reinforced nonsense echolalia or a speaking in tongues.  I don't know where it will all end.  I suppose it all could end in riots, beatings, even assassinations and complete civil breakdown. This hysteria must be bringing every latent (and not so latent) violent psychotic out of the woodwork like roaches after the honey pot has been spilled.

My brother in Iowa said that his Representative had to be flanked by two large police officers during one town meeting, he was so fearful of the brownshirts actually rushing the stage and physically assaulting him.  This phenomenon has been explained and predicted by social scientists as largely the product of the displaced anger and frustration resulting from the economic uncertainty of our present days after Bush left Obama with that great steaming pile of deregulated excrement.  That, along with the really obvious racism that is now spilling over, is bringing things to a critical mass in many parts of the country.  I'm afraid my state of Missouri is one.  It is certainly one of the most racist places I have ever lived - at any time.

This is interesting:  I have been dropping a well placed comment or two in a few carefully chosen Right Wing blogs, just to see if there was any way to somehow short-circuit all the hyperventilation.  The results are pretty amazing in their consistency.  My posts are met initially with a flurry of virulent personal insults and threats based largely on their projections and misreadings of what I actually said.  After a couple of days, I select one or two of the most glaring responses to blast out of the water.  Then silence.  I cannot tell you how many of their blog comment pages I have stopped cold that way.  I don't think I am flattering myself.  I wish I could convince a few of my progressive friends to have a go at this strategy as well.  It really doesn’t take all that much time.

These brutish people are bullies at heart and, like all bullies, they are basically cowards who cannot stand up to any reasoned criticism that calls them out.  I am always superficially civil and only attack in an indirect way through humor, satire, irony and hyperbole.  Unlike my interlocutors, I never attack any critic (or his mother) directly.  This tactic drives them crazy. These Right Wingers primarily network and reinforce each other over the Internet.  I am convinced we could take the wind out of this movement just by attacking their websites—just that alone.

It would take a surprisingly few number of people to bring this movement to its knees.  Of course a well-place LTTE from time to time wouldn’t hurt either.  My friends would rather spend their time writing their congressmen.  From my past experience, that seems like a much bigger waste of time.  Actually, I do write and petition my congressmen, regularly—but only out of a habitual commitment to the absurd.

Peace,

Complete idiots
People who say he's a Nazi Communist are complete idiots, and are apparently unaware that before going after the Jews, he went after Communists, Socialists, and Homosexuals.

If people are going to sling insults, they should just use common words, not words they apparently associate with asshole, or dumbass, but mean entirely different things. You'd think they'd be at least smart enough to find out the meaning of these things, and Hitler's attitude toward the words he says, but we know from the history here that republicans seemingly are unconcerned about schisms in their arguments, or obvious contradictions.

I guess it's tough when you can't just call him black, or a "N*gger, like you used to. You have to couch your racism inside of other rhetoric. But this duck is walking like a racist. Anyone notice how few black faces you see at these tea-bagger parties, at the rally organized by lilly-white Dick Armey and his corporate group, Freedom Works? Look deep into the crowd, and you'll not see any blacks.

It would be alot easier to rebut these a
if Obama and the Dems would give us something wroth fighting for, and, in my state, probably worth dying for!

HR 676 -- I'll confront these armed idiots for it--but not for HR 3200. Yes, there is racism to this, but, no, I dont think that deep inside they know better. I think that alot of them are just plain fricking stupid. Result of a limited gene pool, some might say...

BTW--there were paid black (men only, curiously--or not)in that crowd--I saw them, and shame on them.Bigger shame on those that pay them.

Btw, people know that the Af Am man with the assault rifle on his back in NH was paid to go there by Dick Armey, no? Just in case you didnt...

It is Cold War era fear-mongering--Stalin, Hitler, blah, blah, blah. And they give our reps a sorry excuse to pass a lousy bill.

Class wars...
Bob...

The internecine struggle that we see between people is largely created and promoted by the Ruling Elite. People are easily diverted into the "us against them" mind-set and this has served our rulers well throughout my lifetime. The real issue, IMO, is not Right vs.. Left, Dem vs. Rep, gay vs. straight, Christianity vs. Islam, or any of a thousand other constructs. What we are really involved in is CLASS war - it is 99.99% of the planet vs. .01% (the psychopaths that largely control the planet and all life thereon). It is this "us" against that "them"! The maintenance of all other inter-species conflict does nothing but serve the interests of TPTB. As they lose control over their ability to manipulate the masses, they become evermore desperate...

The good news is, the Ruling Elite's actions are not sustainable and people are waking up. The evil cabal that has attempted to run this planet for the past couple of hundred years are near the end of their days. There is a storm coming and it will be a doozy! We will see guillotines in the public square before it is over. This time, I hope that Humankind can build something better!

In Peace, Hope, and Solidarity...

Class wars...
America elects its first black president.
"He's not the president," the loony birds shout, "he was born in Kenya!"
The president asks congress to draft a healthcare reform bill.
"Stop him, stop him," shout the loony birds, "he's going to euthanize the elderly!"
The president encourages children to study hard and stay in school.
"Oh, no," the loony birds shout, "he's indoctrinating the children with socialist propaganda!"

It's time, America, to stop listening to the loony birds.

I do not believe a thinking person, could argue with Robert and Robert, (I like that). These viscous murdering ruling classes, have never heard of impermanence. They are acting like cornered rats!
Looking from outside of the US, I see lunacy being acted out!
I have noticed since the economic crisis, a downturn in the number of arrogant redneck comments at this site.

This rising tide of Right Wing insanity is something that could literally make us not just the brutal, corrupt, Imperialist country (we have always been) but an entirely psychotic entity as well. Of course the overwrought lesson of Hitler's toppling of the Wiemar Republic comes to mind -- again.

I am working on a new essay that is gradually developing. The thesis is that the Radical Right Wing and the Progressives are both responding (in vastly different ways) to the malignant Zeit Geist of all the corruption that has been unredeemed in our history. Of course they are dong it in radically different (and the Right in largely unconscious) ways. What I am asking is: Is not this discontent stemming from the same roots: genocide, ecocide, slavery, racism, fascism, Capitalism, Imperialism, etc?

In a paradoxically strange way, Bush overturned the rock and laid bare the serpent for all to see. As a result, we are reaping the whirlwind like never before in our history.

One true thing the insane Right understands is that all bets are off. Largely because of the illegality of Bush, the fragile fabric we call the social contract has been rent beyond repair. “Do what thou wilt” shall now be the whole of the law of the land.

Unless these miscreants from the last administration are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law -- every man-jack of them, there will be no way the timid Democrats will ever be able to restore order in this country, let alone govern with authority.

One point that must not be forgotten in the rant against Rightwingnuts (which I participate in as well)is that , not all of them are Democrats...I, personally, have had it with both parties. They are both corporate and the BaucASS "health reform" bill announced today, show us that there are enemies of the true Left in both parties. In war and in health care, the GOP simply could not do it alone.

Money is the issue, for Dems as well as GOP.

The US Government has been throwing money on the bonfires of war for some time now, spending money on destabilizing governments of countries they view as not conducive to the spread/maintenance of Imperial Amerika.
Empires have fallen because, they become too expensive to maintain, resources in become less than resources out.
Then come the period of brutal desperation, then collapse.
Just consider how much it cost, money lives resources, to destroy Iraq, on a basis of a lie. What's the latest reason given for the US going into that country? I've heard quite a few, all shaping up as 'umbala'.
'Those the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad'!

Yes, mike...just think if they made the military and bank bailout bills "deficit neutral".

The US running out of money may be the only thing that will stop the Imperialist wars. It is a shame that so many so-called lefties seem to want to play Empire Falls with Obama. But, the working and poor classes, both here and abroad, will be the ones to suffer--always are.
Wall St banksters will never give up their blood or treasure---they will simply move it to whatever country will allow their casino-style "free mkt".

When the poor classes here realize that they have more in common with the poor classes of other countries, than they do Imperialists here, perhaps we will have Intl peace.

How can any thinking person support Obama or make excuses for him? He's continued the Bush Legacy with a vengeance and beside that he knew exactly what he was getting when he made all his promises which he has broken in astounding record time. The man is a puppet of the Elites and if this sounds like i'm a raving right winger just how pussified are these people who hear it as such?Or who's paying them to blog their claptrap?

Dear Rokitjon,

I don’t think you are hearing a lot of praise for Obama in this thread here. And I certainly would not accuse you of participating in a right wing rant. If you read all these comments, you will find that most responders are contending that Obama has sold out to the ruling elites—Goldman Sachs and Big (Health) Insurance, etc, etc.

The main point I was making with the essay that launched this thread was that, due to Obama’s and the Dem’s reluctance to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law, Bush and his cronies, the country is in danger of sinking into chaos.

I would certainly agree that we need to push Obama more aggressively to fulfill the promises he made. There is still too much of what I call Obama pixie-dust floating around in the form of people who are simply unwilling to see how horribly he has been cheating the progressive base whose support was so essential to his victory last November. I feel that even guys like Jimmy Carter, Cornel West and Michael Moore are giving him far too much of the benefit of the doubt.

What I will NOT do is endorse the right wing lies and people who raise false issues and bogus criticisms like the birthers, and those who accuse him of having an insidious Socialist agenda. Would that he had such an agenda. I agree with Michael Moore that Capitalism is a great evil. My argument with Obama is not that he is too pro-Socialist but that he is still too pro-Capitalist!

Capitalism has amply proven itself as the primary agent responsible for nearly all our major troubles in the world today—from war to our total financial collapse to health care.

Peace,

Thanks for the response Bob.This is where things get confusing with Obama. From one vantage point he looks like a Socialist, another angle and one sees a Fascist Capitalist, another and he is a great liar and conman. The more I study the man the worse he looks.I regard the birth certificate issue as a very important indicator. There's no doubt he's a smooth operator, but I myself don't consider this admirable or even worthy of mention, nor do I think he needs to be splitting his time between America and the UN Insecurity Council. As far as Health Care/Big Pharma/Corporate Hospital goes, that is one Big poisoned triune that no matter how it's twisted around and prettied up is still going to go on basically unchanged and yield the same results - big profits.Obama has brought no one into his cabinet that has championed any of the peoples causes. It's one big fraternity up there whose members are expert at ploy, manipulation, constitutional deconstruction and economic slight of hand while still creating (for some people) an air of Hope.Political science at its best and the powerlessness of the people to stop it at its worst!

I don't think there is a general view in Australia that Obama is a socialist, most seem to think he's intelligent a better bullshit artist than Bush.
But where is there any real change in foreign policy. Clearly he dare not stand up to the corporations, and they controls him. Looking in from the outside, one wonders why the citizens fight for no health care reform. It's as if empathy and compassion has been bred out of them.
A nation of gun lovers with no heart; surely to goodness America desperately needs a leader with the balls to break the corporate shackles that binds the USA.
But I think it is an impossibility, it will take something enormous to wake the citizens up from there stupor!

Of course Americas problems are multiple and exponential.We\'ve been raised on Zionist Protestantism,at continual war and nation sabotaging since at least 1913,brainwashed by Hollywood/TV/media/Pop Culture and all the worlds vampires have made a home on our shores because of the Dream and Prosperity (Babylon the Great has fallen, fallen, and has become the habitation of every foul bird),many of our politicians from the inception of the Constitution have been selling out our structure since day one,and now they\'re all mostly perverts who are bought off or wiggled into power by...what do you want to call it?Rulers of Evil? Our food supply is crap, our schools are corporate conditioning centers and...you want me to go on with this?Due to everyones need to survive we keep trudging on as Zombies with our eyes fixed on a distant light - the end of the fucking world! If someone pushed the button and wiped us off the face of the Earth they'd be doing us a "Compassionate" favor..just make it quick please!

Bob--PLEEZE take me with you! I wish to hell I had stayed in Denmark with my uncle when I did a WorkCamp there...my neurologist at the Medicaid clinic was drunk today--how would some of these people like to have that? Kennedy for his brain tumor? Dood for his prostate? Lets cut THEM off of health care! Lets make the Pentagon and bank budgets "deficit neutral", eh??? (military/medical industrial complexes doom USAns)

There is one hope...but it would take a Revolution. Some of us have nothing to lose, now.

Now I'm off to Cleveland to plan a civil disobedience at an insurance building. If you hear of someone getting beat over the head by a cop, come bail me out,and take me to a Mediciad clinic for stiches or euthanasia ok?

I had an experience like that too!First of all the clinic was as cut-rate as you could get.The chair arms were filthy. The nurses and receptionists were off in that secret place workers go off to and the doctor was red/glassy eyed and was muttering something about how I needed to go serve the public!...?The prognosis?"We're not equipped to deal with your condition. You'll have to find a doctor that accepts Medicaid.Unfortunately very few do...wish I could be more help".Our tax dollar at work..

Exactly Kyle!Another Medicaid doctor I visited had this maddening perpetual smirk on his face. These docs are being purposely selected and the structure made purposely degraded. Both times after I walked out of these places I had the feeling I had been betrayed by the gov't,but this is part and parcel of our Whole gov't M.O.It's absolutely sickening. We have 750 bases in 130 countries, and you bet the leaders of those countries are doing exactly what we want them to - including Gitmo. We got all the money and technology for that but pittance for healthcare and anything else.Obama "may not" be a dictator - he just campaigned and was elected as one!"Well not his fault..i'm sure he didn't realize until it was too late and now he has to do what he has to do..we'll have to give him a chance".People actually say these things!

Bob,
Prima facie Australia and the US, may look very similar, multi cultural, same official language, same predominant religions...etc!
Whereas flag waving and this patriotism thing, seems to the predominant theme in the US. Here grate value is placed on mate-ship, and even though
it may be bulled up, there is a truth in this.
As for flag waving, along my street two house fly the flag out of dozens, that's cool whatever.
And never this constant stream of God blessing, and exclusivity.
Hear we all pay a levy in our tax towards health care, very few object, and we are able to take out whatever supplementary cover we wish, if the desire is felt,(private dental, private hospital...)
The USA does seem to be falling behind the civilized world!
Previous Howard government was pro Bush, but while he was bulling up Bush, the people in the streets were joking about him as was the comedians!

Yes, Mike--its call "civilization". Thanks.

Wingzam--I worked as a social worker for years and saw this coming when my private insurance dropped me. I am terrified about it every day.

I used to get steroid injections in my hip (they preferred that I would take brandname Oxycontin, but I decided I didnt want to die for Purdue) from a bad motorcycle wreck. I had to drive to Cleveland (4.5 hrs away!) to even see a pain spec! I showed up once and the idiot doc (you never get the same one twice) was screaming at his wife (?) on the phone "I dont know where the f*cking file is! Dont cal me, blah, blah" I thought, "Oh great!" He looked up at the lights as I walked in the room and said, 'Do you know that your Mediciad dosent even pay the f*cking light bil here!! Do you KNOW that or CARE!" What could I say?? I said, "NO, but I had a good idea---wtf happened to your hypocratic oath? No one makes you take Medicaid, you get paid for certain and not so with private insurance" He just injected me very hard and now I just live with the pain.

Drs seem to have a huge sense of entitlement here--maybe it is because we charge so much for schooling-but whatever it is, what the hell guarantees you two mansions if you become a doc? If you dont want to serve people, like nurses and social workers usually do, go work on Wall St! And keep your drunken hands out of my skull! Jeez!!!

Mike makes a good point about our patriotism. It works together with this outworking of manifest destiny to bring light/capitalism/hope/opportunity/womens rights and Jesus Christ.. to the world - by force when necessary!
And we are such fools for this stuff and so far down that road that you better know your audience before you speak against it.
I go to a dental college for reduced rates and get to know the student docs. They walk out of there with a bill of $160,000 for a basic four year education. They can go on for more training or they can TRY to find a job. This is by no means a turn key career.I try to find out more from them but its obvious the stress is high and they don\'t want to talk about it.As for the VA,they employ a large number of foreign doctors. At the VA here they have as a lead PTSD doc a Korean..that goes over big for the Korea and Vietnam vets.We keep hearing that America is not producing quality students so corporations have to go outside to get talent. This is complete hogwash. Our docs are having to compete with cheap labor also, and from what i\'ve seen these foreigners are getting huge tax breaks and incentives..Still I can imagine that it must be a big let down to discover that only one mansion will do,and that you\'ll have to \"save money\" to get that Ferrari.Yet we don\'t know the cost of gov\'t regulations on these people or the effects on ones mind trying to cure people with modern medicine thats actually killing them..I heard the the highest suicide rate among professionals is among doctors. But then I heard that about journalists. When one has to use a title to address a professional (\"yes officer, please help me doctor) thats a bad sign of them having been programmmed by a system.

I think the true definition of Capitalism is that it is a system wherein Everything comes down from the top. Therefore Everything emminates from and is controlled from the top.No free market,no local industries,no actual wealth controlled by the common man.One may think gold is immune from this but the guys who set the values of all currency also set the value of gold - and it seems like just when a commodity is a sure bet (like oil was) and everybody jumps in they collapse the price and make out like bandits. But we were talking healthcare..I started going to the VA when I finally realised that I had that benefit(DUH!).I\'d been out for 30 years..The treatment was much better and I really can\'t complain.I have noticed that every year my primary physician changes.I also found that whenever I went to intake here in Lake City,FL for a problem I ALWAYS picked up a chest cold, but this never happened at the Gainesville VA.Still,by and large the doctors are friendly, sober and service oriented.I\'ve heard numerous horror stories and have remembered what one guy said about this system \"They\'re good at running tests, but seem to shy away from diagnosis, for once they diagnose something the onus is on them to actually fix it.\"The best of technology and procedures requires the best insurance I guess, but they do try to prop you up the best they can..

Exactly, from what Ive seen...you have to be careful about those heavily lauded "benefits" too--lol. They arent going to call you and tell you that you have them, I found that out!!

Yes, the uS is the best example of the failure of top down economics. But the govt still dosent seem to get it...they just keep trickeling down, (pissing on the poor)

As long as we have Ivy league running everythng, they have to justify their status by pretending that we live in a meritocracy--people at the bottom know that that is bs.

Haha..you know the game! Ronny really pioneered the use of that game in politics and then built the excuse onto his "Legacy" that he was suffering from Alzhiemers.Georgy Bush took the game to new and astounding heights and with the willfull compliance of churchianity was able to bring us to a whole new exponential low.But I myself played this game in the military and am sure that is where it came into existence.See,if you fuck up real good and someone calls you on it you simply give him the stupid look. What you've actually done is given him a coupon so that he can use the stupid look when he fucks up.It all works out to most everyones benefit in an organization like the military where the "fog of war" obscures things. It's especially usefull in peace time where it's known that "War is hell, but peacetimes a real bitch".George was not a bumbling ass before he got elected or thereafter - he just portrayed it very well and got his pass, though most people didn't give it to him.He took it,and you don't do that in the military. In fact,if you try to use the coupon too often you're SOL.Now that our gov't/corporate/church can and does anything it wants We are not able to call it on it's BS so we are severely screwed and our leaders are becoming more and more as characatures of humans than actual real people.Just throwing theories in the air,the more a president acts like a machine the subconscious impulse would be the less we would be inclined to call him on his BS.If Arnold ever got elected we would have a cyborg as president. But America is already a machine so in honor of this I dedicate the song from Pink Floyd - "Welcome to The Machine"

God I wish I could have a Christmas like that! And yes it was the greatest $ crime in the history of the world. And we were all just watching, dumbfounded and asking "Did that really happen? How could they do that?"But they did this really mindboggling thing - they stole our future.Formerly they had stolen huge chunks piecemeal, but this time they gobbled it all down at one sitting. It's kinda like watching an eating contest and this little guy walks up and eats 1000 hotdogs!Your head cocks to one side, your eyes cross just a little bit,you go "What the fuck" and walk away shaking your head muttering "I wish I hadn't sponsored that contest..

Cranked Crows
They took the final vestage of the middle class, one thay we were told was the 'Merkin dream since we were kids--the 'home".

Yeah, some people took out stupid loans. But this was criminal fraud, in most cases, erasing entire neighborhoods (like mine=none of my neighbors are original or permanent residents anymore), seeking out the disabled, people of color, minorities. And everyone's house went down in value. My sisters and I had to sell my father's house (with 6 acres on it--big old house) at the bottom of the mkt--we just couldnt affored to keep it. We got about 1/3 of what it was est to be worth.

And now none will be prosecuted but Madoff---he was the tip of the iceberg.

Do you know how much health care, housing, etc we couldve bought with what we gave the banksters? Alot! But, that all has to be 'deficit neutral".

I still feel like a deer in the headlights--middle class to indigent in about 2 yrs...and I'm sure not alone.
