US totally isolated on new UN body on Human Rights; US leaders always keep on harping to speak on behalf of the international community ( usually USA and UK and a few others ) , but last week against strong Washington opposition ,the United Nations overwhelmingly voted to establish a new body to promote human rights around the world. While 170 countries supported the new body USA, Israel, the Marshall Islands and Palau voted against it. ================== (Gajendra Singh., served as Indian Ambassador to Turkey and Azerbaijan in1992 -96.
