Fitzgerald Is Pulling The Plug It's has been like a patient on his deathbed; you've been expecting his final moment any day but when the time comes you are not completely sure, you are trying to poke him a few times to see if there is any movement or reaction.
Karl Rove, has been on his political deathbed for some time now, an indictment was inevitable. It was just matter of time for Fitzgerald to pull the plug and put him out of his misery. According to Jason Leopold it happened last Friday. RIP Mr. Rove In an article posted yesterday on the Truth Out Website, Jason Leopold reports that Karl Rove, formerly Deputy White House Chief of Staff, was indicted Friday by Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald with perjury and lying to investigators in the Valerie Plame Wilson CIA leak case. Leopold attributes his report to ‘high level’ sources with direct knowledge of the 15 hour meeting between Robert Luskin, Rove’s attorney and Fitzgerald on Friday in Washington D.C. Rove was reportedly given 24 business hours to ‘get his affairs in order.’ Sources had said Friday that it is likely Rove will also be indicted on an obstruction charge. Rove has reportedly informed President Bush and Chief of staff Joshua Bolton of his immediate resignation when the charges are publicly announced by the Special Prosecutors Office. A spokesman for the White House said they would not comment on "wildly speculative rumors." Rove has appeared before the Grand Jury 5 times now. Newly-appointed White House Chief of Staff Joshua Bolten recently announced Rove would no longer be Deputy White House Chief of Staff and would instead be focusing on the November Elections. Rove testified to the Grand Jury that more urgent matters at the White House had caused him to ‘forget’ that he had shared damaging information about Plame’s CIA status with reporters prior to July 2003 and resulted in his stating that his first knowledge of the Valerie Plame case came to him through he himself reading a newpaper account of the case in July 2003. Leopold quoted White House staffers as saying, "We need to start fresh and we can't do that with the uncertainty of Karl's case hanging over our heads. There's no doubt that it will be front page news if and when (an indictment) happens. But eventually it will become old news quickly. The key issue here is that the president or Mr. Bolten respond to the charges immediately, make a statement and then move on to other important policy issues and keep that as the main focus going forward."
