Are we there yet?

by Shahram Vahdany

During one year we’ve came a far distance, somewhat farther then we expected. We did not crawl or walk; we ran breathlessly to get here.

Last year we launched MWC News Magazine out of our frustration with Main Stream Media. Soon after we realized we also must cover the things that are lacking in the alternative and independent media. We added form to our content and were able to demonstrate that one could provide readers with the best of the both worlds. In form and design we’ve gone head to head with the best corporate media, with multi million dollars sponsorship from advertisers, and in content, with the best independents. We believe we’ve done pretty well, but we’re still not there yet.

We are attempting to help bridge the gap between two -western and eastern- cultures, bringing middle-eastern news, opinions and commentaries to western readers. Uncensored and untouched. In that, we  became unique.

In our mission statement we told our readers we will not be bound by objectivity, yet in actuality we provide them with the most accurate news and unbiased reports and views of the events that we can find.

We accept being criticized and have developed an open comment policy, in which we encourage all to express their views without restrictions. If any credible voice speaks up and adds to the on-line dialogue, we want to make that voice welcome.

We are often asked why we are doing this. We believe the question that one must ask is why isn’t every one doing this?

We are living in the strangest of times, where our global reach becomes personal by virtue of immediate access to more sheer information than our species has ever had the opportunity to select from, in the comfort of our homes.

We are proud to be part of something greater then ourselves, with some of the most dedicated humanitarians. writers, activists and artists on our planet joining us.

We believe that modes of existence premised on power-over and on ignorance and fear have become outdated, and that our global survival must be based on open channels of communication.

We also believe that Bushco. would happily pull us all into WW3, and we will be continuing to do our best to influence resistance to this plan through criticism and the now daily revelation of criminal activity by this administration.

Are we there yet?

Not by far. We have long way to go. Our journey has just started.

Yet we are aware of the fact that we need helping hands and that there is an organic process to the evolving nature of our site. Our journey has become the means, not the destiny.

Thanks for coming along for the ride.
