MWC Special
By kgajendra singh

"Writing for MWC website since a year has been a great honour and a very satisfying experience for me.  I have been able to express my views frankly and freely without any constraints, something which is quite rare now a days especially in Western media , which unfortunately has been taken over by corporate interests and has morphed into an in-house public relations arm. In USA and many other Western countries it has led to almost total destruction of the noble profession of journalism and its mission of " telling the truth".

The disappearance of media's watch dog brief over the executive has led to the erosion of democratic principles and values and has weakened democracy in USA, the most powerful nation on earth. But Web sites like Mwcnews , have courageously kept alive the flame of integrity of thought , independence of expression and continue to inform the public of  the truth. Like the unaffected part of the liver which has almost been taken over by the creeping malaise in the US polity, it gives hope that the body politic could be revived, before it is too late.

It has been a great privilege for me to be part of this noble mission in the hope that America could still play its rightful role in consonance with its constitutional foundations of fair play and justice and not abuse its enormous military and economic powers at home and abroad. America can still be a part of the universal human story to promote justice , equality and compassion. Threats to use force and even use of nuclear weapons against non nuclear states , against its obligations under NPT ,the current ruling elite in USA, since fall of the Berlin Wall has used globalisation to control others without accountability and tried to gobble their energy and other resources ,as in Iraq .It is just a continuation of colonial exploitation, more brutally, by another name .

A word of appreciation to managing editor Shahram Vahdany . I remain amazed at the diligence and innovation he has brought to the task of making the website more effective through constant and positive improvements both in the get up and the contents.

On the occasion of completion of one year, apart from thanking the editors, I wish the magazine , its contributors , staff and supporters even greater success in reaching out in its mission of telling the truth ."

 Sincerely .Gajendra 6 May,2006 .
