MWC Special
By Ben Tanosborn

An anniversary for MWC, and a reminder for all of us

Let’s notch this first year for MWC as the prologue to a never-ending book; a book that purposely will never see completion but only added wisdom; a true work-in-progress with new chapters to be added in a constant search for truth.  Not just assumed truth, but self-evident truth.

In a very short while, the Staff has done well in not just giving the book an attractive and ever-improving cover, but also in coordinating a continuous parade of world events. Fishing in cyberspace does require special lures… we all know that!

A medium with conscience, given the imperfect world we live in, implies the need for change.  And a web site without borders, in every possible respect, also implies the need for change, and the receptiveness to adopt new ideas.  Readers and writers, each of us contributing in our own way, should collectively put together a catalyst-effort for that change to take place.

One hopes that the seeds of change sown at MWC this past year will provide a harvest of focused discussion; discussion that will lead us to confrontation, first with the soundness of our own ideas, then with the ideas of those who hold power and entrench themselves in the status quo that will help them preserve that power.

We strive to be reader-activists, writer-activists at the conflux of ideas for a better community – the world becoming our ultimate Community – with MWC as a destination point for those ideas. And indications are that we are taking the appropriate strides to get there.  Hopefully, that will become more evident this second year as our community attracts more contributing writer-activists from the greater world geography.  A lofty goal, indeed!

And to get it all done, and done well, we must all work together… we must all take the vow of voluntarism, all become MWC volunteers.

Ben Tanosborn an editor of MWC News, after completing graduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), he set out for a career in international business that would take him to five continents, expose him to several cultures and make him realize the importance for any and all Americans to become goodwill ambassadors for the United States.
