Israel and Expansionist Society

Israel was born in enmity.  The British gave away a piece of land in the Middle east  which was not theirs to give.  The British have never faced up to the responsibility  of what they did.  The creation of Israel was by plunder, by force and ethnic cleansing, we know this now for certainty.Image

The entire Arab world, rightly saw this act as an affront.  They say that the creation of israel was yet another act of domination by the Imperial powers on their lands.  The 1920s arbitrary creation of new States by drawing lines across the sands, broke up a unity of a single peoples. The creation of an alien people in  the land now called Israel created a wedge within  Arabia, which has disturbed the development of the entire area ever since.

So the issue remains, how can the Jews of Israel make a safe land for their descendants while surrounded by enemies?  This question is still as large now as it was in 1948.

The answer is the Greater Middle East Policy of the USA.  This is Israelis only hope of achieving this goal.  And it is now clear that such a policy can only carried out by inflicting untold suffering across the Arabic world.

The beginnings of such a policy are already in place.  Israel has over the last two decade become part of the world’s experiment in global capitalism. Israel had begun its life as a form of democratic socialism, offering free health and education to its people  over the last two decades. The work  of Nitzan  has shown how the israeli economy has been transformed into an American free capital movement economy, where the great multilateral Industries and banks  have their home.

In a word, Israel is already prepared to economically dominate the Middle East, should the way be opened politically.  The Greater Middle East Policy is all about opening societies to Washington  policy of free movement of capital.

A huge effort is made within the USA, by the Israeli State to control pro Israeli  information.  This effort is relatively easy in the main media, which are huge conglomerations  of privately owned TV and newspapers  tied in  closely with  America’s  political elites.

The smaller States like Jordan can be bullied into Israel friendly policies.  Jordan is led by their Monarchy, who in turn are led by the ~IMF/World Bank.  The free trade zone in Acaba  requires all investing parties to find 10 to 20% of all their inputs from Israeli firms.

This is small beer.  The real goals are Iraq, Iran and Pakistan.  Israel is now so unpopular  across the Arabic world, that there is no way, that “democratic” societies could be persuaded to have  financially open societies of free trade and free movement of capital with Israel.

The war in Iraq, so popular in Israel,  and some say led by Israel,  can be seen in this light, as pro israeli policies.   A peaceful pro American government in Iraq, who rebuild the Haifa Kirkuk pipeline, so hugely enriching Israel.  Israeli capital would move in immediately, and a new stock exchange trading  in capital would follow immediately.

In a similar argument, the  control of Iran must follow through a new invasion.  There are many who argue, that the new Mullah millionaires would wish a deal with America, and would turn a blind eye to a deal with Israel over time.

Pakistan might follow suit.  Certainly the Pakistan armed forces might like such a policy.  But with the Taliban in their Northern Hills behind them, a free capital movement, friendly Israeli policy seems far off just now.

In brief Israel can only now produce friends in the long term by force of arms across the Middle East.  Just now, the opposition seems to be growing, and the success of the Greater Middle East policy seems further away than ever.  That will not stop Israel trying;  she has no other policy on the ground, no friendly polices for her neighbours are even contemplated.

The people of the Arab world can only look forward to more and more grief, as Israel tries to find ways to dominate the entire region.

And all this is of course the final piece of the totalitarian jigsaw.  Only a totalitarian government could contemplate such policies.  One thing we can be sure about.  As the faces change in the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, all the isssues I have discussed here will not alter.  The basic parameters are fixed, and that is because Israel is run by their military, and that is why so many of the Heads of States have been military men in their time.

Conclusion

Israel has all the aspects  of a Totalitarian Society,  In a horrifying manner she has replicated many of the key aspects of  the society, Nazi Germany, from which Isrel justifies her existence.    Israel  has a huge military arsenal of weapons, it militarises its young population through long compulsory training,  it uses its military forces to expand the land under its jurisdiction, it terrorises its subject and colonised populations, as it takes their land and destroys their economies.   It own population is characterised by their racial blood  and religious ties.  It  control flows of information  especially within its own state, and with great effort in the USA.  And finally, it is an expansionist State,  an expansion that must take in the whole of the Arab world.

None of this is an exact  copy of Nazi Germany, but the close correlation is terrifying , and something all of us should not be frightened of acknowledging.

I for one don’t believe any of this is viable, it cannot succeed.  The valiant  resistance of the Palestinian people lead the way for the whole of the Arab world.  The day when Imperial armies could march across alien lands is gone.  The new invading forces of Americans, Israelis and their shadows, the British and a few others, will fail.  But in failing there will be huge suffering.  People every will resist and that in the end must be the touchstone for all of us who look on with such  horror at the Siege of Gaza and the Insurgency in Iraq.

A jewish friend recently communicated his discomfort with the current tendency to tar all jews with the same brush as that used to - legitimately - criticize Israel. I had not seen this in evidence in the left-wing press. So I have to say I am shocked to discover that if you 'touch any non-israeli jew' they all apparently have the same mind and beliefs and do not grasp how horrific, maybe psychotic Israel's actions have become. None of the jews I know support Israel's current murderous actions and all of them are concerned about the slaughtering of the palestinian people and doing what they can to effect positive change. Let us never get confused about Israel and the USA; regardless of their political stances they do not represent all jews. If ever there was a time when this distinction was essential, it is now. Take this article off of this site or lose - deservedly - the credibility of this site. Thank-you, Emily Mervyn

I am sure Roger is able to explain his position on this issue.

RE: Israel A Totalitarian State
The Council's resolution included a call "to dispatch an urgent fact-finding mission headed by the Special Rapporteur" et cetera, et cetera. The man selected for this mission is John Dugard and, as U.N. Watch, an independent non-governmental organization noted, he has held this position since 2001 and has the dubious record of never finding a single Palestinian guilty of anything.

After a pro forma expression of sympathy for Corporal Gilad Shalit, the Hamas hostage, he added that he felt the same "for all Israel's young soldiers compelled to serve in the army of an occupying power."

According to UN Watch, this same "occupying power" has, over the past four years, been subject to more than 140 separate suicide attacks and 13,730 shooting attacks. Dugard failed to mention them.

The United States has been oddly quiet of late regarding events in Gaza, noting only that the kidnapping was a terrorist act. Perhaps the State Department has concluded there is nothing that can be done to persuade the Palestinians to act in a sane fashion.

The Israelis have tried every thing they could to mollify the Palestinians and the neighboring Arab states. They have done this despite having fought several wars that gained it the territories the Arabs want returned, along with all of the rest of Israel.

There is a lesson here somewhere for the Israelis and for the rest of the world. It has something to do with punishing one's enemies until they give up.

It has something to do with the lesson the Holocaust should have taught them. You cannot negotiate with people who want to kill you.

RE: Israel A Totalitarian State
The notion that Jews are somehow invaders to the Land of Israel is nonsense. Jews have ancient roots in this region, and the Philistines ("Palestinians" or, more accurately, Jordanian Arabs) have been backward savages for all of recorded history. This has changed little thanks to the stagnation of Islam for the last 1000 years. Israel is absolutely a legitimate state, and it's current size and area are the result of exchanging vast areas of Arab-held territiory lost by Arabs in several wars of aggression against Israel for "peace". By all standards of international law, Israel should be much, much larger. Under no circumstances should Israel give up one inch of territory to the savages.

In terms of current events, Israel is attacking Lebanon due to specific criminal acts of war committed by citizens of Lebanon supported not only by Lebanon's govt but by the vast majority of Lebanon's people. So far Israel is focusing on blockading Lebanon, possibly to prevent or minimize Syria's likely involvement and to soften up Lebanon for a much larger offensive (hopefully) or it may simply be trying to prevent the removal from Lebanon of it's kidnapped soldiers to Syria or Iran as some Israeli officials fear may occur. In any event, history has shown that most Arabs only understand force. The only times Arabs pause in murdering Israeli children is during and immediately following a major offensive by Israel. Once regrouped, they retaliate. The solution for the region is for Israel to not give them time to regroup. Hit them hard and keep hitting them until they all surrender or are all killed. This afterall is what Hezbollah and most Arabs wish for the legitimate State of Israel: total annihilation. Such savages have no place in a civilized world and are fair targets for destruction by Israel or any other legitimate nation.

the digest
There is no more central issue in the U.S. juggernaut for world supremacy than the interrelated roles of imperialism and zionism. The big "debate" about whether the main culprit is the U.S. or Israel is laughable if one pulls out the propaganda earplugs to actually hear history past and present.
But this fascist deception is peddled in even more subtle, dangerous ways than the liberal imperialist New York Times et al, by liberal zionists like your author:
Zwanenberg writes: "The creation of Israel was by
plunder, by force and ethnic cleansing". At the very least,in the context of the world as it stood at the end of WW2, the factual content of this sentence means the Zionist /"Jewish" state was imposed as a rogue state. The justification for such a resort to force against the Palestinians, attributed variously to Zionist Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion and to U.S. Secretary of State John Foster Dulles, was that "the old will die off and the young will forget." This comes straight out of Mein Kampf and Rosenberg's "Myth of the Twentieth Century" as the
justification for "the Aryan nation" asserting its "right" through violent suppression of resistance. Zwanenberg chairs Pluto the Press, but even on Pluto the planet, it seems unlikely this position would garner much if any support from whoever or whatever inhabits it.

Zwanenberg also writes: "The entire Arab world,
rightly saw this act as an affront." What the entire Arabworld and quite a few others in Europe and the Americas "rightly saw" was that such an entity had no right to exist: it lacked legitimacy. Masking itself as a so-called "homeland for the Jewish people," a state had been imposed "by plunder, by force and ethnic cleansing" aimed at destroying the population already living on the land in question, as well as both the integrity and the identity of all the other peoples of the Arab world. Whence, then, the
logic for his concluding question: "So the issue remains, how can the Jews of Israel make a safe land for their descendants while surrounded by enemies?" Whose land?!?!

"Whose land" indeed is the explosive central issue
that the Washington-Tel Aviv blame game is intended to bury in obscurantist talmudic disputations over whether the dog wags the tail or vice-versa. Many liberal Zionists are quite clear on
questions of evolutionary biology and "Creationist" dogmas, so they shouldn't have too hard a time recognising that dogs that are kept (for whatever purpose) do not buy their own food at the supermarket, or prepare the meal, or arrange daily walks or even acquire nuclear weapons without
going through some master. That's just the way it is with imperialism's instruments.

Zwanenberg's "a land for Jewish people' is a vile deception obscuring the culpability of U.S. imperialism--without whose full political & financial support its fellow state-terrorist Zionist client state could not exist. His sickening saccharine words -- "The dream of a safe homeland for all Jews is now further away than ever" -- cannot disguise Zwanenberg's, and all imperialists' & Zionists',
commitment to the racist holocaust embodied in the very existence of the fascist settler state's occupation and genocide against the Palestinian nation.

Why? Because there is no historically constituted 'Jewish people' with a 'historical homeland'. This is the racist myth required by the U.S. and Israel to execute their strategy for "Eretz Israel" as "Middle East" centerpiece and lynchpin for U.S. global domination.
For a full and historically accurate accounting read "Zionist Theory and Practice of Nationality",
