From Gaza to the USA- Culture shock

GazaAs everything has to come to an end eventually, I am currently counting down the last few days of my ten-month trip in the United States. I was invited a couple of times to speak on what’s like for a Palestinian from Gaza to live in the U.S. for the first time.

A Very Strange Reality

We read this loud and sensational story of a man, a killer without a conscience. Hard for most of us to fathom. CNN brings a few sensational aspects of the story such as “killing doesn’t seem to affect him” and the fact that he admitted to killing “more than” 30 men as an enforcer for Mexican drug gangs.

The morning after is quiet. Newsstands flutter with papers. One reads "hope has returned". And that sums up the mood, the feeling of Iranians after one of the country's most unexpected election results.

President Obama: Stay where you are

President ObamaMr. President, after I heard Edward Snowden’s exposure of your colossal spy program against all peoples of the world, Pink Floyd’s song “Another Brick in the Wall” popped up in my mind. Definitely, the American people don’t need your “thought control” or the “dark sarcasm” of the political class in Washington, D. C. Mr. President, just leaves your folks alone. As a former professor of constitutional law, you must have been for years in the wrong movie.
