Kucinich 'will file Bush impeachment' | Print |  E-mail
By Shahram Vahdany

Congressman Dennis Kucinich says he will introduce articles of impeachment against President Bush for deceiving the American nation.

The Democrat said Wednesday that he would introduce the articles on January 28, the day US President George W. Bush is scheduled to deliver his State of the Union speech.

"We already know the State of the Union," Kucinich said. "It's a lie!"

"[The] Bush administration led the nation to war on the basis of erroneous information that it methodically propagated and that culminated in military action against Iraq on March 19, 2003," the 61-year-old congressman quoted the Center for Public Integrity's recently released report on Washington lies prior to the Iraq invasion.

"In short, the [US] president and the vice president [Dick Cheney] lied and four-thousand of our soldiers died," Kucinich said during his speech in the United States House of Representatives.

"The president and the vice president lied and a million innocent Iraqis died in a war that has cost us 2 trillion dollars, when people here in the States are losing their jobs, their healthcare, their homes, their dignity," he continued.

"If impeachment is off the table, then the truth is off the table. If the truth is off the table, this House will be living a lie," he exclaimed.

Kucinich's statements wreaked havoc on the House floor; Republicans strongly voiced their objection to his remarks.

Florida's Republican congressman, Cliff Stearns, termed Kucinich's statements a 'clear and egregious violation of House rules'.

"Kucinich used the House floor to launch a personal attack against President Bush and Vice President Cheney and accused them of lying to the American people," Stearns added.

Many Americans remain dissatisfied with the Iraq war, claiming it was launched with no justification other than 'Bushite lies'. The US president and his top echelons invaded Iraq under the false pretext that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction.

Outrageous! A congressman tells the truth, finally, loudly, and worse yet, officially. And now he\'s thinking he\'ll introduce articles of impeachment? Outrageous. Over a tiny little mistake like the Iraq war and the million or so dead Iraqis and 4,000 troops. Stearns, that wasn\'t a personal attack, that was an act of statesmanship, and he has the majority of the American populace behind him on this. Two greedy, violent, power-mongers trick America into voting for them and then use that power to tear apart their own country and, by extension the world. But that\'s too personal. How rude.

I LOVE THIS GUY, AND OVER AND OVER I SUPPORT HIS EVERY WORD.

I do not know when Kininich has the time to do what he does. Those of you who have not read his bidding portfolio are missing a lot, that is unless you are one of the people he mentions, read with an open heart, mind and soul or work in the area of assisting, (may be are green, a disabled war viet and/or family member of one, served Katrina survivors, etc, etc).

On this one point alone, the legitimacy of GW, he is accurate if not understated. It would seem, that our nation is on a mission of ethnic cleansing other peoples in other lands. As if our own bleak history of attempting to do so of our land\'s native cultures isn\'t current enough, (though it does continue)!

Thank you for this worthy info and Emily\'s comment.

Grand Stand
Frankly it just gets worse, and should their accidentally be enough to gain ground for impeachment? One might wonder if they would pull a coup. As Chambers Johnson says the system is so corrupt and scattered with issues how can any one keep up. With main stream media in the standing line to push forward more steps toward fascism, how could the people become informed to unite. I fined Kuchinic upsetting that he always withdraws and tells his folowers to put their vote towards a pro war canidate. In one of the debates he said he would not endorse another democrate if they did not oppose the war and military occupation. To me Obama is not saying that.
