Hope II | Print |  E-mail
By James Secor

Hope. Let's take a look at this blight to humanity. It is a blight because people who hope do nothing. They wait and see. Change, changing takes so much energy.

Pandora was given a box and told not to open it. She did, of course. Pandora opened her box and let loose all the evils, ills, diseases and burdensome labors of mankind, the only things the box contained. Let me make that clear: the only things in the box were the ills of humanity. Nothing else. Pandora was a quick thinker, though, and she shut the box before the very last curse flew out. What was the last ill? Hope. She saved the world from hope, the final curse. But someone must have opened that box along the way, for all humanity seems infected with hope.

Hope: for people who really don't want to do anything because to get change you must be active.

Well. . .we've grown so used to suffering, yet another one is nothing to complain about, eh?

Obama. The Hope Candidate. A man for the times. The do-nothing times. When what we need is change.
