And talking about Cindy

The problem with Cindy Sheehan is that she's honest. She has a nasty habit of speaking from the heart and making relatively self-evident points. You can see why the far right hate her; talk about a a painful juxtaposition with the Bush Administration. Losing your child has to be the most unbearable experience of all human existence. That her child was lost to calculated lies and stunning greed must burn. She has managed to take and use that grief to catalyse and inform through her actions a nation that has seemingly become deaf and blind. It is now clear that the mainstream media has not been covering what's actually happening in the world, either through fright or sickening deliberation. America has gone so far to the right that many of it's citizens are having a hard time understanding that the very institutions and ideals formed in so much hope and high expectation of integrity are being cynically and aggressively torn apart - from the inside, by the Bush Administration. At the moment, Bush and Co. are America's most dangerous foes; Bin Laden's just their handmaiden.

The Left has fumbled again and again by having representatives too afraid to call out and speak honestly. With the political dialogue so tamped down and limited by servile media and Democrats afraid for their own careers Cindy Sheehan has taken it upon herself to simply tell the truth. What hubris. And for that she has also become a target for all the anger true believers in the Bush Administration feel. Why? because she dissents. Dissent by any and all citizens and it's peaceful expression is the bedrock of the American Constitution. Freedom, as a work and a concept, has never been as systematically abused as it has been since Bush became president. He never meant it to become embodied, walk up to his doorstep and start asking hard questions. Cindy Sheehan is what freedom's all about. For millions of Americans, here is patriotism in it's finest light. And in it's neediest hour. She's one person standing up; so can we all.
