Statement:
The mainstream media so control the minds of the populace. We need to find alternative ways to get both the news and thought about it out to a wide audience. I spend most of my time writing books; and then never know if they've reached their audience. What MWC News offers, in contrast, is the chance to get ones thought out right away. We live in a time of crisis. Our liberties are being shattered. And Bush isn't the end; he's just the next step in the reagan revolution. But crisis also activates the richest thinking. And thanks to MWC News we have a way to live crisis in the richest way. Thanks to Shahram, MWC News (in contrast say to Counterpunch) remains open to the widest range of opinions. And of course the ways to respond that it offers its readers remains an untapped potential for evolving new forms of group politcal relationships. As a Luddite, I was slow to see what Shahram taught me: that the internet is the source for the politics of the future. In its contribution to that possibility, I hope and think that MWC News will have a long and fruitful life. Quote this article on your site | Views: 2408
1. 15-05-2007 23:03 Thanks! My response to Shahram’s request for my contribution to the anniversary of MWC news got put on the back burner and I didn’t manage to get a contribution submitted. I am taking an opportunity to rectify the situation by appending this response to Walter Davis’ piece. Actually, I met Prof. Davis through this forum and for that alone I will be eternally grateful. I truly believe Prof. Davis’ insights concerning the deep human motivations and the sociopolitical forces that dominate our culture will prove to be among the most important and revealing of a generation. The one point I wanted to make concerning my participation with MWC is that I find it quite user friendly and accessible. With many other popular sites there is no chance to interact - as in the case of Counterpunch or, like Huffington post, you must contribute your comments in competition with literally hundreds of others all clamoring for the reader’s attention. I’m sure Shahram would like an even larger number of hits on the site, but I find the intimacy with the editors and other readers refreshing in this age of Internet anonymity. I feel like I am a member of an extended, largely non-dysfunctional family. Thanks Shahram … and Peace, Bob Boldt Guest Write Comment
